I recorded a couple of videos of a family pet. They were of him playing (just before he became unwell and had to be put down). I can't open one of them with a message saying 'we can't play this file'. It's not a video I downloaded from elsewhere. Is there any way of opening this file? Hope someone can help.

Thanks for reply debitcardmayhem. Yes they were both recorded on the same phone, one straight after the other. The first one just stopped recording so I hit 'record' again (2nd video). It's this second one that won't open. I'll try VLC.

you could download the .mp4 video file to a laptop or pc. Then google 'mp4 repair' and use one of the .mp4 repair tools eg the one by easeus.

Don't do that, just use VLC
