If lenders are not reducing trackers…is this a sign that rates will fall over two years

I’ve noticed HSBC have refreshed their fixed rates since December, numerous times, reducing them.
Trackers have literally stayed the same.
Their two year fix will now be around 0.5-0.75 below their equivalent tracker at the next BOE rate increase…
I don’t want to switch to a fixed just yet, but it seems that with a rate difference of 1% I might have to? Thoughts…

That’s correct, but the tracker will probably fall later in the year as BoE rates fall. I think it is swings and roundabouts. If you value paying less today, pick a tracker.0

I think the strategy of taking the tracker and then when becoming an existing customer, secure a fix ready to switch across to an even better existing customer fixed rate if needs be0
