I did a quick top up shop today for veg and cheese and spent £11.30. I'm now up to £237.47/£250. I'm not going to declare just yet as I might get some more sourdough nearer the weekend.5

Well, indeed I did need to do a top-up shop, so I popped into L!lds in passing to acquire some mozarella for tonight's HM pizzas - where exactly did that packet in the freezer vanish off to, looking at DD1 & her BF? - and ended up buying a few more things I'd be buying in the next few days anyway, whilst I was down there. So £22.22 added, taking me up to £534.25, which really is IT for March. That's inside what I've decided is the new monthly target of £550, for 5 adults for 4 weeks, but over the one I'd hoped to keep to this month.
The £22.22 did include a £1.50 box, which was very good value this time although the assistant clearly thought I was daft for buying one; the wilted lettuce & pak choi on the top did look a bit off-putting - but not to my chickens! There were also carrots, onions & leeks, new potatoes (easily enough for 5, with a couple left over for planting) a wilted basil plant (now reviving) an aubergine, apples, pears, one plum and a whole punnet of nectarines. Sigh - why do the powers-that-be keep refusing to allow L!dls or Ald! to set up shop in our little town?Angie - GC Jul 25: £225.85/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 26/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)6 -
Final shop for March done this morning across Sainsbury, Lidl and the Food Warehouse. Total spend for the month has left me with £44.10/£200! £40 of that has been transferred to the Bulk Fund as that was already a bit overspent this month.
I will be carrying forward £4.10 to April but have only budgeted £150 as we have a holiday. I'm giving the GC a miss next month as it gets a bit complicated with having shops before and after holiday but holiday food spends don't come from the GC budget but the Holiday budget!
Back with you all in May after our holiday.

Declaring grocery spending for March at £249.73/£270. Have to be happy with an under budget result 🙂
