Re-mortgaging

I currently have HTB (help to buy) with mortgage on property I purchased 6 years ago. For last 1 year I've been paying interest every month, this will increase further this year.

To avoid this I would ideally need to remortgage and pay back the government HTB. Here's the problem, I have a CCJ and bankruptcy on my file (discharged Nov 2021).

Can I get re-mortgage with my current situation and would I actually be worse of paying new interest as opposed to HTB interest?

    One for a broker
You would need to check your credit file with the 3/4 credit agencies.
I think you have to declare on the application form if you have been bankrupt ! Not 100% sure on that.
However you still need help with this.
Maybe your better off paying down the current mortgage and keeping the HTB loan.
Maybe you have built up lots of equity and now is the time to remortgage and pay off the HTB loan.
