Tesco shoppers who have ditched their physical Clubcard in favour of scanning their phone at the checkout, will need to download the revamped Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app to avoid missing out on points. The supermarket is axing its Pay+ app on Monday 27 February, while its separate Clubcard app will also shut later this year.

Reading that the Pay+ & Clubcard app are closing, will I still be able to use my tesco creditcard (which also has my clubcard details) to amass points on purchases?

The apps are simply being combined into the main Tesco app, why maintain 3 when it can all be done with 1, so they are not closing down the services.  Your cards will still accrue points as normal.

Ok so, I already have all 3 apps. In the groceries app I can see my card in the 'payment wallet'. But I don't see anywhere to get the QR code used to actually flash at a till. Is it just not there yet?

Thanks, that seems much less convenient than the current, separate app. Hopefully it gets it's own button at the bottom of the screen in a future update.
I assume this is why the app is asking for login credentials every single time now rather than remaining logged in. That's also less convenient because the (android) app seems to be hardwired to use google smart lock even when another password manager is set in a way no other app does.

I guess I'll just have to turn on biometrics. Or I would if they hadn't also forced another password reset today. It'll have to wait until I can be bothered to deal with that now.

Edit: No, tapping the card just gives me the option to remove it. No QR code.

The option to pay-in-store is not available to everyone yet. This is the reply I received from Tesco

    Hello Mick
The Pay in-store button has only been released to about 10% of android phones as of today. Please keep an eye on your email and we will send another email to you to confirm when it has been fully rolled out to android users.
    Thanks - Brian

The grocery app crashes every time I open it, so I've added the clubcard to Google Wallet, so I'll see if that works.

I've had the grocery app in my wallet since it came out and never had a problem. tap the card, hold the barcode over the scanner and hey presto club card accepted

Btw I'm Apple iPhone so I can't say regarding Android

I have Pay+ and Clubcard and Groceries, there is not yet any option to pay from the latter although I have added a card.

Tapping it does nothing in my up to date Android 13 phone.

The Pay+ notification area says it will be migrated at a later date, so sometime in the next 5 days and that I will get a message to say when it has migrated.

In the Pay+ app you could add a ‘nickname’ to each card, this feature appears to be missing from the new app which is a shame, I found that very useful
