Difference in output between two sets of solar panels

  • Thanks for all the feedback. I can see the power output of the two strings on the inverter data. The ones on the front look like  this for yesterday

    Compared the the side ones

For some reason the side ones seem to be dropping to zero very frequently and are never generating very much so based on your comments I think this is a fault and I need to chase the installer.

Definitely chase the installer, but can I ask - from the pic you have a hip roof, but only a driveway / car width from the house to the SW with a pine end roof, which I'd have thought will have a height, especially ridge height higher than your panels? So at this time of year is there shading on one or two (or more) panels most of the afternoon?

Also, panels on hip roofs tend to be mounted lower, as space is limited at the top, and lower panels, especially this time of year, may get more shading.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
  • Thanks for the reply but the house next door is a bungalow so no shade at all from them on our roof.

I've contacted the installer again and hopefully they will respond.
