Morning everyone and thanks for starting us off Gers hope you are feeling better today?
It looks like it will be a nice day here - the sun is shining.
I am going for Sunday lunch today at the village hall. It is roast beef with all the trimmings.
Hope everyone has a lovely Sunday.11 -
Morning All
Drizzly rain this morning, it'll be a day of doing something inside rather than the planned garden day.
Off for a swim at 9, the pool is only open for an hour in the morning at weekends for the swimming lessons so can't be late!
Enjoy your lunch iris.
Hope your bumps and bruises are healing Gers.
I'm back at work tomorrow so will get everything organised, I've already done the ironing that's been hanging about for a couple of weeks.
Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday, take care.10 -
There's a lot of grey low cloud here, overnight was fairly cold so my hopes aren't too high for a fair day.I had a fitful night, no idea why. Lots of weird dreams, nothing horrible, but aren't dreams meant to be weird? I tried to listen to podcasts though they sent me back to sleep. Now I have five which I need to go back to to hear the second half of.My only plan is to take my smelly bin to the tip. A couple of satsumas had been left too long, gone mouldy and now very stinky.Aches and pains are slowly subsiding each day, thank goodness. Last night I managed to climb my steep stairs normally rather than one-step-two-legs. The stairs are an effort on a good day so I was chuffed to get up them properly.Despite my misgivings I have to admit liking my new cutlery more than I wanted to. 😀 I've sorted through my old stuff, taken on board advice from weenancy and will take it all to a CS next week. Mind you, the new teaspoons are rather short in length, a bit like new Mars bars!My thoughts are still with all our poorlies and missing. Happy Sunday to all.11

Morning everyone enjoy your lunch Iris no washing up that’s a bonus Gers I’m pleased to hear your feeling better but take it easy . It’s bright here but chilly after a lovely day yesterday all windows were washed inside and out all housework done and two good dog walks . I’ve taken chicken out for later plenty of veg and a couple of Yorkshire puddings I will have to wash the kitchen floor again the joy of having a dog and the vinyl I chose is to light nevertheless it looks nice when it’s clean for all of five minutes hope all the MIA are getting over there coughs and colds . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all, looks like it might be nice today. DB2 & SIL are coming later this morning to deliver DHs card and present for Thursday (70th- how did that happen!) We had an Indian takeaway last night, plenty left for tomorrow. Tonight will be some steak from the meat pack. The butchers weekly deals are great, good variety and a mixture of what I call staples, mince, sausages, bacon, and then some treats like the stroganoff we had the other night. It would cost a lot more if you bought them separately.DGS team won yesterday so he was happy. We have a free day today, DGD game was cancelled, probably too many girls off for half term. She has gone to her Nana & Grandads caravan until tomorrow.Glad the cutlery is a success GersEnjoy your swim Camelot, and Iris your roast beef dinner.Happy Sunday all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Morning everyone
Still in bed with my breakfast and laptop. A load of washing is doing it's stuff - all the muddy puddle suits and painty aprons from nursery. I'll get them out on the line once I'm up and dressed. I'm going down to sit with dad so mam can go to church. Then my only plan is for a quiet afternoon with my Sunday Times. Tomorrow I'm taking little one on the train to Newcastle and we're going to the Life Centre - like a science museum with a planetarium. I used to take her mummy and sister there quite regularly. She's very excited for our adventure.
Her bedroom was decorated last week so last night was her first time back in her 'new' bedroom. We've talked and talked about how safe it would be and how the ceiling is so strong it can never fall down again (fingers crossed) - my phone pinged at about 7pm with a photo of her fast asleep.
Gers - I'm exactly the same with podcasts - I'll put one on when I go to bed and halfway through I'm asleep. I don't know how people listen to an audiobooks - I'd spend my time trying to remember where I was up to!
Iris - enjoy your Sunday lunch. The place you live sounds nice - is it a little village?
Izzy - I wish I had darker vinyl in my kitchen it always looks grubby.
Camelot - enjoy your swim. We're on half term now - I'm looking forward to a lazy week.
Strangely, I feel happier now it's been confirmed that it is Long Covid is responsible for how I feel - weird cos obviously I don't feel any better.
Well the washing machine is spinning now so I better get up and dressed. Hope you all have a good day today.9 -
Morning all, I got a lot done yesterday but got distracted with some decluttering and then the upstairs hoovering didn't get done, it'll be done tomorrow now.
It's a brighter day here so the wm is on. The bedding is patiently waiting it's turn too, hopefully it will all dry a bit on the whirly today. Dad is coming over for the day so we'll have roast pork loin, roasties, veg and gravy and I'll make apple sauce with some of the apples from the fruit bowl as they are starting to go wrinkly.
Gers you know you're getting old when you like new cutlery 🤣 I took your lead about the toffee hammers and binned 2 as well !
Iris enjoy your roast beef lunch out.
Camelot I hope your day at work is kind to you tomorrow, take it easy if you can.
Rosy our meat van man does really good BBQ packs. Hope you have a great free day.
Right wm has finished so I'll go and hang it out.
Take care and hugs to the poorly ones and MIA's.

Morning all, washing blowing in the wind down here. Just doing some research for our Cornwall trip next week, found a lovely little barn conversion cottage for a week very reasonably, we were going to Wiltshire anyway the following weekend so thought we’d have a cheeky trip first. Not been to Cornwall for six years, used to go almost every year.
take care allCarolbee9 -
Morning all
Nice day here dry and bright, we are off for a bit of a longer walk today will try for five miles, a lady from out village has gone missing she is having cancer treatment and her family are worried sick she has been gone five days now so we will have a good look for her while we are out.
Mum is at my sisters for dinner today so we will have a quick easy dinner if pizza and salad and garlic bread once we are back from our walk.Wm had just finished so I will hang the washing out it should dry off a bit.
Have good days all and take care xx9 -
PS - meant to say 'hello' to the long-lost Tinks, now aka aprilsun. So lovely to see you again.Taff - my toffee hammer will be no more too. Yesterday I posted a photo on the decluttering thread showing some items which I found in my cutlery drawer when clearing / cleaning it. My late DM's much used and loved pastry wheel, my late DF's much used bottle opener which doubled up as a condensed milk tin piercer, our Christmas nutcrackers, a toffee hammer and my late GM and GGM's wooden spoons. The corkscrew is not so much loved! I've decided to keep the pastry wheel, bottle opener and wooden spoons (perhaps they can be revived). Nutcrackers and corkscrew can go to the tip, which is going to happen in just a few minutes. Once I'm home I want to watch 'Everything, everywhere all at once' (if that's the right name).Ruby - I hope that the missing woman is found safe and soon.DP1 - what a wee sweetie you little one is. She'll love the Science Centre, they've made such great use of the old brewery site.Carolbee - I've never been to Cornwall, the nearest was Torquay when I was about nine years old.12
