Someone i know has a solis inverter and i think you have to buy some extra dongle to enable remote management, so might be worth checking that will be done for you?
2.5kw would cover lights basic plugs etc just not any high usage stuff like oven,  kettle etc... is that a limit of battery or the EPS do you know? And how will that EPS be provided? I was told by some installers that they could wire to certain circuits in my consumer unit,  or just everything...
It wouldn't cover a 3kW kettle, but a travel kettle or one with a smaller draw would work. We have a 1.2kW Vectra kettle. It does take longer to boil, but it's thermally insulated and stays hot for a lot longer. Goes well with the PV because it requires a lot less sun before you can have an import free brew.

A microwave oven should fit within a 2.5kW budget as well, even with lights and TV on elsewhere in the house.

3.6 kW PV in the Midlands - 9x Sharp 400W black panels - 6x facing SE and 3x facing SW, Solaredge Optimisers and Inverter. 400W Derril Water (one day). Octopus Flux
  • I guess the point is if you are running on EPS perhaps get a gas kettle if you can't do without a cuppa
In reality if there was a situation where i was on EPS for any length of time i would just be using lights and plugs nothing else to make my battery last
