Smart meter and Solar PV system issue

Who's got solar panels AND a smart electricity meter?

If so, when your solar PV system is exporting electricity to the Nat Grid does your IHD display a reading? i.e. the IHD always shows a reading and differentiates between drawing electricity from the Nat Grid and exporting energy.

Our IHD always just displays '0' (zero) whenever energy is being exported.

Despite weeks of cajoling Shell Energy they've finally put their hands up and said it's a shortcoming of their control software.... And no plans to fix! 🤬

I am considering transferring to another supplier, Shell Energy customer service has been awful from day one (involuntary transfer to them on the demise of PurePlanet) and it would be a bonus if our smart meter / IHD operated as they should.

IHD  -  Chameleon IHD7-CAD-PPMID 2022

Current electricity smart meter (SMETS2) -  Aclara SGM1411-B (22M0351438)

Comms hub -  Toshiba SKU1 cellular (1Y22AOAOAAC)
We're still on the FIT payment system not SEG ;-)

If your electricity meter / IHD operate as expected and you do get readings of current energy being exported please do me a favour and let me know:

- energy provider

- make and model of elec smart meter

- make and model of IHD

I have IHD7 PPMID 1.5 2022 but mine does show what is going to the grid when the display shows "usage now".

Our PV was only fitted last March, so SEG not FIT, SMETS2 is L&G470

My Geo IHD doesn't display export and just shows zero. I just look at the Myenergi app to see live exports.

I have a Trio II IHD and that also just shows 0. I have yet to get my DNO so don't know at this stage how you go about telling the supplier how much has been exported under the SEG and how they verify that ??

This is my not-very-smart meter, installed 12th Jan, not yet communicating with e.on owing to lack of signal in the cellar.  It reports the cumulative export, which you can see in the photo; when I get the IHD I assume it'll show live export as well.

Your supplier will only pay you once everything is set up and will start to pay from the meter reading at that time. You won't get paid for any previous export.

my trio display only shows how much is being exported at a set value probably over  50 watts not  quite sure when it kicks in, a lot of the time it just shows exporting though could be time of year as most of my power is being diverted into the water heater at mo may change when we get some sunier days.Hoping ill get a octopus mini unit soon which should be more functional
Has anyone recieved  one yet.

Myenergi manufacture EV chargers etc. I have a Zappi charging point which monitors and records my electricity flow from/to the grid, house and solar panels. The app primarily controls the EV charging but they store reasonably accurate data which can be displayed in the app or downloaded via their API.
