Defendant in a small claims dispute keeps stalling

Hi there,
My daughter has made a claim against the land agent of her freehold property through the small claims court (MCOL). The defendant's solicitors acknowledged the claim with 15 seconds to go of the 14 day period, asking for an extension. They seemed to have replied within the new dead line with 30 seconds to spare, but when she checked her money claim account on the government site it said they had not replied and she can apply for a ccj. Then without notice the site now says
"xxx applied by post to change something about the claim. We’ll post you a copy of their application. This will explain what you need to do next.Your online account won’t be updated - any further updates will be by post."
Can anyone explain to me what this can mean? Why would they do this?
Thank you for any advice you can give.

I don't know way they would change from online to post but there would typically be a delay if something was received by post and had to be uploaded by the court, so it's possible that they submitted their application within the deadline, it just hadn't been noted on the online file before the deadline so the notification to your daughter went automatically.
Since it says that she wil get a copy of the application by post with details of the nest steps, she will need to wait for that to arrive .
You refer to a land agent - is this a property in Scotland? Is her application in England>?
All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0
