Mortgage declined due to EON

Thanks everyone for your advice so far! A dispute has been raised with that individual credit agency on my behalf through CheckMyFile and I have emailed EON who have replied but only to check my address (which was in the title of my email and I had written it in the actual email to confirm with the account number!)
I will keep you posted with how it goes but do please carry on passing out advice and I would love to hear updates from some of the others on this thread who faced a similar thing!0 -
It could take up to a month for your credit report to be updated. So this may not be resolved in time.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I agree, its not looking great for me and the likelyhood is that we will loose the house but equally, if this does not get resolved then we wont get any house in the near future so this is my main focus atm. My broker has also said that this will potentially drop off by this time next year? so worst comes to worst, we have to move in the meantime to another rented property if the landlord sells, build up a bigger deposit in the meantime and try again this time next year. Not ideal at all but I am trying to think of all sorts of solutions to try to feel a bit better on this!ACG said:It could take up to a month for your credit report to be updated. I ended up saying to my other half that we have our health, two kids and a house and we are ok for cash atm so compared to a lot of people, we are doing well and should not complain but it still sucks!!! The hubbie's birthday was a complete write off yesterday as he was in no mood to celebrate but am hoping he will feel a bit better at the weekend to do something!
Thanks for your advice yesterday as well ACG! I am Portsmouth based so am assuming I would be a little bit too far to have a chat but appreciate the advice you have offered which is very welcome!!!

I still think a little building society would do the job now. It would cost a little more, but it allows you to move. Im surprised it has not been suggested.
Happy to try and help. I just didnt want it to look like I was trying to slate the broker to win the business or to try and win the business at all. Also if not a Man City fan, thats a bonus.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. I am going to look into a little building society this afternoon but no, this has not been suggested. To be completely honest, we had a few different options for mortgage brokers but none were quick at getting back to us so we went with the one recommended by the estate agents we were buying with. He has been great so far but since this has happened, almost radio silence and I have been left to try to wade through this all! Perhaps a mistake on my side but everything was going well up to this point!ACG said:I still think a little building society would do the job now. I can also confirm, I am not a Man City Fan, my grandfather would kill me if I was (he is a die hard Man U supporter as he was born and lived in Manchester for some time!) so that is one bonus!!!

I had a relation that took Yorkshire Water to court for libel for a similar issue. He won. If it's definitely their fault, you could get thousands.0

The Family Building Society are a small specialist BS who are flexible and seem to judge each case on its merits. Worth a try.0

Blimey! The credit agency seem to be taken it seriously though and escalated it really quickly. My main focus though is to get this off my record first and then I can go from there.sevenhills said:I had a relation that took Yorkshire Water to court for libel for a similar issue. He won. * Update *
I had an email yesterday from Eon saying that they could not deal with my enquiry via email and could I call in. I replied back saying yes but the last time I called in, no-one could help me so I hoped that it would not be a merry-go-round type situation. Called, waited 20 minutes, spoke to someone and explained the situation who was horrified. Took my info and then asked which 'EON' I was with. I was rather confused but looked back at the emails that I had been sent and the transcripts etc and said EON UK.
Oh no (he said), EON UK is a completely different company to us, we are EON Next and we cannot help you at all. He gave me another phone number to call and I rung off to call the number given. However, that number no longer exists! So now I have no way to contact EON UK. I called the HQ of EON and asked to be put through to complaints - she sent me back to EON Next who can't/won't help me. Called back and asked to be put through to EON UK not EON Next. She put me through to EON Next - there is no number apparently for EON UK anymore!
So back to square one on that one!! (Also, if anyone wants to put in a complaint about EON UK/EON Next, don't call the complaints number on the website, that also has been disconnected and they have not updated their website!0 -
An update for you all. I have just logged into CheckMyFile and my credit report has just had all the negative markers wiped from EON. I did bother EON again yesterday and the day before via email and received an email back on saturday to say that they would talk to their data team and see what they could sort. I don't know if this is down to the report with the credit agency or my continual bothering of EON but what a relief. I have emailed my new credit report to my mortgage broker to see if we can now pursue the original mortgage. It was worth the perseverance though, I have gone up 1.5 stars and I have had an increase up to 816 out of 1000 and previously it was 546. I am now in the green compared to being in the red. I am sitting here crying with both relief but also, anger. The struggles I have gone through the last 5 years over such a petty problem that was not even my fault has sunk in and the hoops I have had to jump through to get here have been painful.
But to those that are struggling with the same issue, carry on bugging them. I emailed lots of different email addresses, called lots of different numbers and emailed daily. I will pop up the email addresses I used over the next day or two.
Thanks to those that helped and good luck to those going through it!! Fingers crossed that my mortgage advisor can reassess and we can proceed quickly with buying this house now!!4
