Help with reporting a Capital Gain

Sorry, but I now need help to pay my CGT bill.
I've sent the CGT return and uploaded my spreadsheet and supporting info and received my payment reference. However, I'm struggling to pay it. I'm trying to pay by bank transfer and have been on to my online banking and set up a new payee.
I have two problems:
1. I have conformation of 'Return sent' telling me how much tax is owed and giving a Payment reference number, comprising two
letters followed by 12 numbers. When I go to the CGT site to make the payment, I note that it lists my CGT account number as
the payment reference.
2. I've selected my bank (Natwest online banking) and click to pay the amount but the 'Make the payment' box is greyed out. I
tried yesterday and then when I clicked on 'cancel payment' a window came up stating they were experiencing difficulties.
Today, it doesn't say that but I am just unable to complete the payment.
Has anyone else had experience of this or know what is wrong?
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.

I've just looked at the link you have sent and that is just for card payments by entering debt card details.0 -
Does this help? I haven't any practical experience, but this is giving you an account at HMRC Shipley:

I think I might just send a cheque, it will probably be easier.
Thanks for responding.0 -
Presumably your other option is to do a faster payment directly through your online banking to the HMRC Shipley account using the CGT reference that you have? That is how many people pay their self assessment bills.1

I set up HMRC Shipley as a new payee using my mobile phone and then continued to make the payment. I verified details of the payment and pressed to confirm and make the payment and nothing happened on my phone. However, a screen popped up on my laptop at that point for me to use some company (eco something) to complete the payment.
I have no idea how their system was linked to my online banking as I have never given HMRC my bank details. My phone and laptop are not synced to each other.
I was shocked by this and didn't know what to do, fearing I would end up paying twice. I continued on my laptop but it would not allow me to complete the transfer as it was greyed out. I used the 'cancel payment' button and that is when a screen appeared saying they were experiencing difficulties.
I tried again with the same result.
Today I went to my CGT account and it told me how much I had left to pay, and I pressed the 'Make a payment' button. Again, I was unable to complete the payment because, at the final hurdle, the button to confirm the payment was greyed out. This time when I came out of the screen by using the 'cancel payment' button, it did not say there were difficulties with the system.
I might try again tomorrow but if I can't do it, I'll have to resort to a cheque.

If you have a debit card you could try that route?1

I do have a debit card but, as I said to purdyoaten2 in an earlier post, I don't want to use that online. I would use it if I could make a telephone payment but I don't want to type my 3 digit number, from the back of it, anywhere.0 -

Cheque
You can send a cheque by post to HMRC.
HMRC
Direct
BX5 5BDWrite your 14-digit Capital Gains reference number starting with ‘x’ on the back of the cheque.
It usually takes 3 working days for your payment to reach HMRC.
Your payment may be delayed if you do not fill in your cheque properly.
