£25,000 secured loan payback £140,000 - Help

Hi has anyone been in this situation before? My husband took out a loan of 25K in 2008 which he then works out to be £140,000. You do not want a no-win-no-fee lawyer. (They are the bottom feeders of the legal world) You want a real lawyer with a proper background in this field and you will have to pay for that.
