SR flour

chopped nuts
mixed dried fruit
glace cherries
mixed spice
cinnamon
sultanas
brandy and sherry
does anyone have a recipe please! If not for Christmas cake for another kind of fruity/boozy cake would be good please

Nigella's chocolate christmas cake is FAAAAAAABULOUS! And you don't need to make it ages ahead of time

Thanks brazillian, might make that one another time looks yum, I havent got all the ingredients to do it today
I have found a recipe but it calls for plain flour, I only have self raising, does that make much difference? and also asks for eggs, which I dont have, is there anything else I could use in place of egg?

I made Nigella's Choc Fruit cake today. I made 2 last year as the first was a test to see if we liked it!

It also makes a great alternative to Christmas pud - heat a slice in the microwave and eat with thick cream."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0 -
I made my cake, I used milk instead of eggs and the SR flour
It tastes nice but is very very crumbly! I have sat it on the side covered in cling film and drowned it in whiskey, cant wait to have a slice!Sometimes you have to go throughthe rain to get to therainbow0 -
