Are Portafine a pension provider or an adviser company?
They have written to me a couple of times in the last year offering to help me get my tax free cash for a fee, presumably hoping that I don’t know that I can get it directly from my existing pension providers.
They look a bit suspect to me because their website is trying to get you to “release cash” from your pension, which presumably entails you transferring your fund to them.

I think they are advisers with their own platform, but I could be wrong. They send me marketing letters now and again as well - had one today! I would not touch them personally, but they are definitely legit. I'm more put off by their pushy advertising and dreadfully poor website design.1

They pop up on my Facebook feed constantly - are you 55 or due to turn 55 shortly? Would you like to receive 25% tax free from your pensions? All looks very suspect to me - I wouldn't touch any financial company whose business model is to tout for business on Facebook. Our green credentials: 12kW Samsung ASHP for heating, 7.2kWp Solar (South facing), Tesla Powerwall 3 (13.5kWh), Net exporter1

A bit like Fisher Investments, whose adverts seem to pop up everywhere.NedS said:They pop up on my Facebook feed constantly - are you 55 or due to turn 55 shortly?
