Completion day funds

Hi all,

I am due to complete on a house next Friday. The mortgage for it is with Halifax and we also have a Let to buy going on our current home with Skipton. 

I have asked our conveyancer what time the seller needs to be out of the house on completion day, and we've been told it depends on how quickly funds transfer through the system. The chain is just us and our seller who is moving into rented. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? How quickly does this normally happen? I have read everything from 6pm to it happens the day before completion so looking for anyone with experience specifically with Skipton and Halifax if that matters?

My reason for asking is trying to work out child care and movers for the day.

It happens some time during working hours on the day of completion. Probably not first or last thing but somewhere close to the middle. Don't expect more precision than that! Your movers will be used to it.

The conveyancer will draw down on all the funds the day before. 

Get your movers to come as early as possible. All being well you should get the call to pick up the new keys mid afternoon say 2-3pm but there are a number of variables - you are dependent on the outgoing owners being as organised as you are!

I was told 2pm, completion too place 4.30pm. There is no science to it, when it happens it happens. Movers are well experienced in this.
