Megatrain and EMR

Does anyone know if East Midlands has stopped offering Megatrain deals? Searching Chesterfield to St Pancras now suggests a bus from either Sheffield or Mansfield. It's a shame if they have, as it was a good way to make longer train rides more affordable, at times of the day when the train's are fairly empty.

Megatrain is a Stagecoach product so was only available on rail franchises Stagecoach ran or had a stake in.

When East Midlands Trains became East Midlands Railway, Megatrain disappeared.

  • They were still running after EMR took over, as I've booked Megetrain tickets over the past couple of years, but they seem to have stopped this year, so it looks like a delayed uncoupling. I suspect there was a clause whereby Abellio had to honour an agreement to run them until the end of 2022.
