Joint Mortgage with notice handed in to job

Hi,
So i've handed my notice in at my current job ( have to give a long time).
I am looking to get a joint mortgage with my partner in April, and will not be leaving this job until August.
Am i under obligation to say anything? Technically i will still be employed by the same person through the whole process and for a few months after so it may be ok to not say anything?
Job change will be to get closer to where we are buying the house.

If i was to tell them straight away, how much would this affect the mortgage approval and rate compared to if i didn't? - my partner will be in the same job, and is the higher/ main earner anyway.

Thanks in advance!
