Finding a dentist

I have had severe pain in my back molar. I seen an emergency dentist who said he can’t see the main problem and to go to my own dentist. I’ve not been for 3 years and struck off. I can’t get an nhs appointment anywhere and I’m in a lot of pain. Is it worth ringing the emergency dentist again. I know I need some work but how can this dentist help if they are not taking on nhs patients.
