I am thinking of buying a new sofa from dfs. If i buy it instore do they give a discount or allow you to negotiate on the price. The alternative is to by it online  but i was just wondering if there is any price advantage to buying instore from a salesperson

Some retailers do allow stores and managers to offer discounts at their own discretion, but I'm not sure if it's the case with DFC. However, I remember reading a while back that a lady ordered a sofa (to be delivered in 12 weeks) and it got on discount in the meantime, so she called them and they adjusted her payment. A couple of people had the same experience. Of course, there's no way of knowing if the sofa you buy will be offered for a better price while you wait for it to be delivered. I would suggest going to the store and trying to negotiate. If it doesn't work, you can always order it online. Anyway, good luck with your purchase!
