You can cook up the mince then refreeze but don't refreeze without cooking first. If you make meat balls, ensure they are cooked through before allowing to cool and freeze as soon as cold enough.
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
  • Thank you thank you thank you!

I was thinking i had wasted it then! I need to learn to think first not just race in! Well im going to make these, freeze my pizza bases & cut the gammon & freeze the slices then concentrate on sorting recipes out!!

Quick Question...How will i re heat them? in a sauce ?

Once they're defrosted, I reheat meatballs in sauce - sometimes I stick em in the slow cooker with the sauce on low all day, otherwise I do them for about 10/15 mins in the saucepan.

I usually just fry a couple of onions and a clove of garlic, put a couple of tbsp of tom puree in and cook it off then put a coupla tins of tomatoes and some mixed herbs in there with some black olives if I have any.

I find that cooking/frying the tomato puree for a coupla minutes before adding the tinned toms makes it nicer. Or if we have passata, I use that instead of puree & tinned toms. I find the longer I cook it, the nicer it is.

I'm addicted to pasta and sauce (and fudge, that's why I don't lose weight despite pasta being quite healthy!!!)

You can also reheat meatballs in the oven - either on an oiled tray or in a dish with sauce. Oiled tray way makes them come out quite crispy, especially if you do them on high heat for 10-15 minutes.
