Hi all,
I’ve been lurking on this site for some time and can honestly say that I have learnt so much about LGPS and pensions. Thanks to all involved for their time, advice and honesty.

My question. I have LGPS service from 2000, I will reach the ‘85’ years when I am 60 (when I want to retire). Am I right in thinking that my benefits accrued up 2008 will be protected, benefits up to 2014 reduced by 5 years and my CARE pension reduced by 7 years? Are the protections automatic or are they discretions that are controlled by my Employer?
Thanks
Thanks

Yes - you've got the post 2008 reductions right.
The protections are automatic, and are not subject to employer discretion.1 -
