New employees from 2001 were offered a stakeholder personal pension. Can you remember anything about the scheme to which you belonged? Have you had any correspondence from them since you left? If you've moved house, did you give them your new contact details (if not, join the very many who don't think to do so!).

The current Morrison's pension is run by Aviva, so worth checking if they have your pension. You can call Aviva about the Personal Retirement Scheme on 0345 030 7385 or email Morrisons@aviva.com

That said, somebody at Morrisons should be able to tell you who the pension provider was while you were employed there. Simply telling you 'it's changed' is totally unhelpful. Try writing to:

Steven Robson, Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, Hilmore House, Gain Lane, Bradford, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom, BD3 7DL

That was one of the old defined benefit schemes. OP wouldn't have been eligible - they were already closed to new entrants by the time OP joined Morrison.

  • Ah ha. I wasn’t sure if the 7 years was before or after 2011. If after then yes totally agree.
  • I’ve done some digging and 2 CARE pension schemes succeeded the DB scheme and apparently they are administered by Mercers at morrisonsadmin@mercer.com or 0345 4506564. Phone line open Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00. Worth a try?

I had exactly the same thought! - then realised that since the stakeholder pension was the only scheme offered to new employees from 2001 (not 2011), that would have been the one OP joined.

    See https://www.xperthr.co.uk/editors-choice/morrisons-moves-from-final-salary-to-career-average-pension/95867/

Morrisons, one of the UK’s largest supermarket chains, has amended its final-salary pension schemes and moved the 11,000 active members to a career-average revalued earnings (CARE) basis for future accrual. Benefits will be revalued in line with inflation.

Morrisons has offered a stakeholder pension scheme to new employees since June 2001 and it matches member contributions of up to 5%.

It would seem from the information given that the OP would have been enrolled into the DC stakeholder scheme.

I was looking at mine the other day and another scheme that came up was Benplan? Let me see if I can find anything helpful on the portal when I’m in the office tomorrow.
