ERCP Anyone Got Experiences

12 Posts

I need an ERCP, but so far all the NHS has done is bombard me with digital letters and cancel appointments.
I’ve read about the procedure and it seems it’s more often than not done under sedation.
I can stand most things, but I have an absolute fear of dentists or literally anything being done by my face. I have a multitude of mental health issues including anxiety and I am autistic.
Anyone else been in the same situation?
For clarity an ERCP is an endoscopic procedure, which is done to remove a gallstone that is stuck in the common bile duct. The ERCP is needed before they remove the gallbladder, and the procedure does carry risks.
