Poll started 31 January 2023
Whether it's down to customer behaviour, cost-cutting or both, banks are closing branches left, right and centre. This month alone, Barclays has said it will close another 30 branches. So this week, we wanted to know when you last used your main bank's branch.

It may just be me, but the link to the poll doesn't appear to be working ?0

When did I last use a branch of my main bank? Over six months ago.
When would I have last used a branch, if the local one was still open and the next nearest were accessible by public transport? Probably in the last month.
So the subsidiary question is “Why don’t you use a branch more frequently?”1 -
Personal bank? No idea... think it was 5 years ago when one of my banks still didnt have online ability to do a change of address
Business bank - just over a year ago when my security fob had died and I couldnt wait the 2 weeks for them to post a new one.0 -

Yes, I was going to make exactly the same point. The local branch of my main bank closed, and the nearest is now nearly 20 miles away. So i've had to find alternative ways of paying in cash and cheques when I need to.

I go in branch every week, it has an inside ATM which I feel is more secure. I still pay some bills over the counter, and I currently have a cheque (unexpected) waiting to be paid in. My local branch closed a few years ago but luckily I work in the next town which still has one, and I visit in my lunch break. Always enjoy a bit of banter over the counter too.0
