Does anyone know the possibility of getting a default date changed ?
Debt sold from quick quid to lantern in 2021 Quick quid defaulted debt in sept 2019.
When checking my credit file i was shocked that it took them this long to default date as i missed payments 6 months after opening account in Nov 2017.
I have sought advice off debt camel and lodged complaint with FOS, it seems that i wont be getting awnywhere with my adjudicator the general consensus is that because quick quid are no longer trading this default can not be changed and thats it !
I suppose my question is CAN LANTERN change the date if they wanted to ? i am aware that the ICO guidelines are just guidelines but i feel like im being shut down and noone can really be bothered to look in to this for me and wont look in to this issue as quick quid are no longer trading.
I have found similarish cases in the FOS archive where other adjudicators have at least considered similar cases to mine.
ANy help would be much appreciated. x

''Do not think this will clean up your credit record if the debt was sold to a debt collector. Suppressing the record will only affect the credit record with the lender. You will need to complain separately to the debt collector if their record is wrong.''
