Hmrc holding refunds

Hi Hmrc don't payout any overpaid tax even after clicking their links that say they will pay the money they have overcharged after 2 weeks as stated in the Link or someone from Hmrc will be in touch; every year its the same with them and even though I did my tax return in June just 2 months after the New tax year I am still trying to get the money owed

Are Hmrc a law unto themeselves or are they accountable to anybody? Any help appreciated

Well thats another tax year over and still not been repaid overcharged tax; I do believe that the representives are just taking a slice of the money for themselves and as nobody holds them to account they are free to do it.
Who'd be bothered to work in this country with all the cheats in a Gig,zero hours economy , massive large companies that are putting the Umbrella payroll company down as your employer so they can evade the tax man and Hmrc reps overtaking from ones wages their own pockets

It is surprising that you have not had a refund in respect of a tax return filed in June. Did you put your bank account details in the section asking for them if you are due a refund? All I can suggest is that you call the HMRC SA helpline and ask why you haven't received it yet.

I would definately call them. If you previously just had PAYE and did a self assessment or vice versa, the systems don't seem to talk to each other.

I did a self assessment and my refund didn't turn up, on the phone they arranged for me to have the refund. Apparently a box was ticked to say I wasn't self assessment, so any payments didn't then feed through to the payment system.

Unfortunately, at the end of the tax year, the PAYE then gave me a refund, so I had to phone them to cancel the new refund (as I had already had it)

Unfortunately, although the front end form is amazingly slick, it appears that the back end systems are not so.

Had the same again this year and it was showing as a refund due since the SA was done in January and tried claiming, to be told that you should wait 2 weeks so I did this a few times throughout the year, been busy with work I didn't have time to phone and follow up, however now when I click for the repayment it shows as I owe nothing when they owe the refund, it shows on 1 page now that the amount is refundable and whats different now is that when I click for repayment it is effectively saying you are owed zero? any ideas please

so in the 3 consecutive years that you have been posting this annual complaint what have HMRC said when you contacted them? There must be something special about you that you incur the same issue each year.

why are you overpaying tax each time?
