Subsidies on electricity ?? Not really true we are paying indirectly

Watched with interest your TV show recently explaining unit cost increases from Jan 2023 so was expecting a difference to my E O N energy bill for January and yes after increased unit price and increased subsidies bottom line remains the same as you suggested. However I was still shocked to see unit cost has risen from 48.44 to 63.09 kwh so roughly 30% My big gripe is these subsidies are not a gift from the government but is paid by the tax payer and this needs to be made Loud & Clear
The word subsidy is an insult to everyone ( almost as bad as calling my state pension a benefit but not quite) From that comment you may have guessed yes I am a pensioner but still pay tax
Kind Regards Martin keep up the good work but perhaps be a bit more forthright if you can
Thank You
Helen
