in Cutting tax
Hi,
After completing my self-assessment it turns out that I owe some more income tax for 2021-22.
I've just submitted the return online but haven't been asked to pay this shortfall.
Do I need to wait for HMRC to process the submission before I pay the extra tax?
Thanks!

No, you can make the payment whenever you want (but not after 31 January 😊).
Once your return is processed at HMRC's end your account will be updated and the payment allocated to the tax charge.1 -
