One DC was with a company that was bought / sold 3 times with numerous changes of fund that the pension was apparently invested in. Dropped 3 times - financial crash, Gordon Brown’s tax and then past 12 months.
£200 per month for 20-21 years then left dormant 10 years.
Tax relief was not always at 40% though simplified it as 40%.
Actual cost after tax relief was in excess of £30240.

    Now worth £48000.
After LTA tax this will become £21000.
Prior to LTA changes it might have yielded a 10% profit.

The other made a profit which fortunately offsets that loss despite loss of TFLS and LTA charges.

I am fortunate that my workplace pensions are enough.
