Can, or should i fix at the end of my mortgage?

Hi In around 9 months time I will exit out of my fixed 3.78% rate with santander, and go onto follow on rate of 6.25%.
When that happens I will have 3 years 5 months left of my mortgage or 23.5k to pay.

Can I fix for my last 3 or so years?
Do they offer fixed terms for people at the end of mortgages?
Obviously I'm not keen paying £1000 fee or whatever the fee is to fix a mortgage.

Thanks for any advice.

There's plenty of mortgages out there that don't have any product fees.  When you're in your last 6 months see what your existing lender can offer you for a product transfer.  With so little left on your mortgage there isn't really going to be a great difference in your monthly payments and it's probably less hassle to stay with who you're currently with.

Thank you, just wasn't sure if my (or any) provider would be interested in fixing for the last 2.5 years of my mortgage.
I'll start asking my lender nearer the time, hopefully there's a better deal on offer than over 6%.
    Thanks again
