Can, or should i fix at the end of my mortgage?

Hi In around 9 months time I will exit out of my fixed 3.78% rate with santander, and go onto follow on rate of 6.25%.
When that happens I will have 3 years 5 months left of my mortgage or 23.5k to pay.
Can I fix for my last 3 or so years?
Do they offer fixed terms for people at the end of mortgages?
Obviously I'm not keen paying £1000 fee or whatever the fee is to fix a mortgage.
Thanks for any advice.

There's plenty of mortgages out there that don't have any product fees. When you're in your last 6 months see what your existing lender can offer you for a product transfer. With so little left on your mortgage there isn't really going to be a great difference in your monthly payments and it's probably less hassle to stay with who you're currently with.James-may said:Hi In around 9 months time I will exit out of my fixed 3.78% rate with santander, and go onto follow on rate of 6.25%.

Thank you, just wasn't sure if my (or any) provider would be interested in fixing for the last 2.5 years of my mortgage.jonnypb said:

I'll start asking my lender nearer the time, hopefully there's a better deal on offer than over 6%.
Thanks again0
