Security watchdog dilemma

Hi guys,
I got excepted for a job and have been asked to go through pre-screening with Security Watchdog. I've been working freelance for the last three years but I did work in a permanent role twice for six months each but didn't pass probation. On my CV, I've put this down as part of my freelance experience. Do you think they'll see this as dishonest and revoke the offer? Do they ask for bank statements and payslips for the entire time? How long do they take to ask for that documentation?

I don't think anybody could answer this for certain unless they work for the company concerned.heisenberg8 said:Hi guys,

Except in certain regulated occupations, where particular criteria could make employing the person illegal, it is entirely up to the potential employer how much attention they pay to anything that is flagged up.
Probably too late now but it is often a lack of transparency that will put an employer off, even if they would have accepted the "failing" had it been honestly declared.
If there is a problem all you can do is learn from the experience and be completely open in the future.0 -
This will depend in large part on the detail of how you have presented the roles.heisenberg8 said:Hi guys,

What was the generis heading you used to encompass the freelance working?0 -
On my CV, I put 'Freelance Strategy Consultant'. Then I put in brackets (6 months) after the names of the employers. The two roles were exactly the same as the freelance roles.Grumpy_chap said:

If you were an employee rather than a freelance for these two periods, that's likely to be picked up by the screening process.heisenberg8 said:Hi guys,

They won't need to ask for any documentation if the screening process has already picked up the anomaly.heisenberg8 said:Do you think they'll see this as dishonest and revoke the offer? Do they ask for bank statements and payslips for the entire time?
If the job offer does fall through, perhaps the way to handle it in future is to have a heading 'freelance/short term contracts'. The two jobs might have been intended to lead to permanent roles, but describing them as 'short term' is entirely truthful.Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
