Good morning everyone, though the rain and wind rages on still.

Yesterday was the most foul day, the weather was the worst it's been for many years without being a named storm. The front of my house was battered and rattled. When I opened the door for the postie I was actually blown back by the wind. 🙁 Now we're warned about the possibility of icy cold returning. So, nothing really happened yesterday. I stayed in. Before going downstairs in the morning I emptied a large drawer and removed lots of old creams, lotions and potions and other assorted unwanted things. Then I settled down to catch up on some recorded TV shows. One had a trailer for the US version of The Traitors on BBC, set in the same castle as the UK one. I found myself binge watching the entire series on iplayer though not each entire programme, I whizzed past the challenges. There was so much whooping and cheering I muted the sound. The host, well known for his camp ways got increasingly outrageous in his clothing with every episode. Very entertaining.I used up all the leftovers of the food I'd cooked earlier in the week for a somewhat odd but tasty lunch. Then I decluttered a packet of Maltesers left over from Christmas, one of those pouch things. That got me thinking back to when these came in cardboard boxes, perhaps a return to cardboard rather than plastic is needed.Enough ramblings. Today will be another mystery, all weather dependent. I hope that everyone is doing well or getting better. Happy Sunday to all.11

Morning All
Colder this morning and quite breezy but dry for the moment. I was thinking of putting the washing on the line but I've changed my mind as there are some dark clouds on the horizon.
Lovely day yesterday, returned the dress with no problems (love John Lewis!) but didn't see anything else although I didn't look too hard. I'll wait until there is more summery stuff in the shops before I look again. Lunch was fabulous, always good there with great hosts who keep you smiling. Only got really wet once which was a bonus.
Off for a swim soon then I'll meet up with DD and the little one for another swim at a posh leisure centre and some lunch, should be good.
Glad you've shifted the headache dp1.
Keep going Nanny but don't do too much.
You can still get boxes of Maltesers Gers, always reminds me of the cinema.
Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday, thinking of those MIA. Take care. XX10 -
Morning everyone we thought we were going to wake up to snow but the forecast was wrong dry but cold at the minute no brighter though these dark days are horrible. Well the chicken in my crockpot thing turned out delicious yesterday so I will definitely be using that some more it was so moist there’s enough left for today so don’t have to think about what to eat later I have made enough carrot and red lentil soup to last me for lunch for the next two weeks it’s all in the fridge I will freeze some when I get some wiggle room need to clean the kitchen floor need to pop out for some more eggs but other than a dog walk later it wil be a lazy day . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning all,not posted for a couple of days, and it would mainly have been me going on about the rain & wind again (ongoing!),nearly did yesterday but then my sleeve brushed the touchpad on the laptop and my post disappeared
I read but can't remember anything now! I was still up early as pooch was unsettled, she's had her breakfast but we haven't been out yet, though I think it's stopped raining now. Nothing at all planned for today, apart from starting a new book.
Tea will be probably a pork joint and trifle for the men, unless they want the rest of the treat takeaway curry we had last night. There is always enough left for another meal so I don't feel too bad.A letter came for DH giving him another appointment in March.During his consultation on Thursday, the doc didn't think his hip was bad enough yet for a new one & an injection might be ok for now , but feels something is still amiss with the knee he injured in June, so might need a scan.Camelot, I wish we had shops like JL near. There is nothing left in town to buy a 'nice' dress or outfit!. I resorted to online for DN Greek wedding but was never that happy with it & wished I'd sent it back, then when the wedding was postponed until last year due to covid restrictions in Greece, & they had an early heatwave , I ended up wearing something else! At least the dress code was relaxed enough to do that thereIt'll be interesting to hear what you get for Seoul Gers
Mind how you go folks, hugs for those who need one x

Morning folks and thanks GERS. I think we all must have had the rain and gale force winds all night. It's calmed down a bit now and the rain has stopped - till it starts again! The snow is forecast for tomorrow and I am hoping they are wrong!
I don't know what it is about Sunday mornings but I seem to get embroiled in numerous jobs all at once! My soup for the week has been made (Red lentil and bacon), washing done and draped over the airer upstairs and a little cottage pie made for my lunch, though the veg are still to prep. I might be lazy and get some frozen veg out.
I've just had a text from one of my Oz friends telling me she finally got my Xmas card on Friday!! I posted them in November! I suppose they were all languishing in sacks throughout all the strikes.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, recovering or MIA. GERS I am already looking forward to photos in Seoul and you haven't even gone yet!! Take care all and keep warm and dry xx

Hi everyone,
We've been fairly lucky with the weather down here so far, the cold is supposed to be coming, the last one killed off the 3 cordylines we had in pots for the last 5 years so they will have to be replaced in the spring.
I've finally got an appointment for the ultrasound the Dr asked for at the end of November. It's on 8th Feb at 7.30pm which is a bit of a nuisance because it's Steve's birthday but I shall stick with it.
Not a lot going on here, we'd hoped to see Chris and Crystal but that doesn't seem to be happening so I will just plod on with a few jobs. Roast duck for dinner at Laura's request, we had meatballs from the Persiana Everyday cookbook.
Have a good day.8 -
Morning all, it's dry here shhh ! I won't speak too loudly about it or we'll get the rain back. I had a much needed lie this morning as I've been going to bed tired and getting up just as tired. It may be all this work I'm doing or rather watching Mr Fix It do it 😂
Today I have a sm delivery arriving via the lovely Gareth and all is p&c it seems, so while I'm waiting I'll make a casserole with some cocktail sausages from the freezer as the packet wasn't even opened at xmas. That will do for tea today and probably there'll be enough left over for another meal.
On the decorating front we're sanding walls in relays as himself can't keep going like the energy bunny he used to be, then I have to finish cleaning the skirting as I only did half yesterday, now I have to pull out the sofa to finish behind it.
Hope everyone can have a good Sunday, I've only just caught up as I've been a day behind myself since last Monday 😂
Take care all, stay safe and dry. Hugs to all.

Morning everyone and thanks for the start @Gers x
Dry and bright here but the rain will come tonight I think and there are sleet showers forecast for tomorrow morning. I am due in the London office tomorrow, so hope the trains play ball.
We are taking DS2 back to uni later. He is working a short shift at the golden arches first - it's good money, so he didn't want to turn it down. He's very reliable and only a 10 minute walk from home, so he has picked up some shifts whilst home these past few weeks. It all helps.
We had a late night out with friends for a birthday. Ended up getting home around half past midnight which is so late for me, so I didn't get up until 9am!
Dinner tonight is SW kedgeree, which is simple quick and tasty.
BG has finally given us a bill for the period 1 August to 31 December - £1582! Luckily we were in credit to the tune of £1800, so have a little surplus for the next bill. In good news, Thames Water have reduced our monthly DD to £27 from £41.
Wishing you all a good day and hugs to those in need.

Moring all, sun is shining for the now, forecast very cold after so I'll be chopping some kindling later I think and lighting the fire this afternoon. No plans today to do much but the fridge and freezer sort out is nagging at me. There's enough cheese to attract an army of mice so plans do include some cheese scones, maybe today. I made a chicken and chorizo chuck together on Friday so there's still that left for today and a pot or two for the freezer but I am thinking about making a nice steak pie, I have some ox cheek or some skirt in the freezer so I could take some of either out and make it later for tomorrow..I think I need to start organising the freezers properly. I keep forgetting about the ready meals I've already put in there and am not organised enough to get them out to defrost in advance. My get up and go is on a round trip before it comes back to me though.Nanny, glad to see you're taking it easy [as if!] I got a mini Henry from FBMP a few months ago, it does suck very strongly and is easier to use than the upright Dyson. Seems to do a very good job. It is quite hard to push with the carpet setting on, but a lot easier with the hard floor setting. It does suck an awful lot of stuff up. The cordless Dyson is really light though but not great if you really want to hard suck the life out of everything because it won't last that long. My sister swears by her Shark though. Gers, i had two boxes as a present from my cousin. I ate them all already though...:) and you're all booked reay..Didn't fancy staying a bit longer because of the flight length? Izzy, your definition of a lazy day sounds anything but
Rosy, hope they can find what's wrong with his knee. snoozer, good luck with yours too. I did laugh at your welcome home present though..Coxy, it's just incredible how much it has gone up isn't it. Scarlet, enjoy the party today. I will vigorously wave at the missing and exhort everyone to take care and stay warm and dry.
