All seems quiet outside, it's a bit eerie. Yesterday turned into a semi-lovely day, bouts of brightness tempered with occasional teeming rain.My day was filled with texts and phone calls about flights to and hotels in Seoul. I didn't really fancy the hotel which was suggested before realising that it was better to have everyone in the same one. We'd be a party of seven or eight adults. Upshot is that I've booked my flights, it's a long way for only five days (16 hours flying time each way) but I'm looking forward to the traditional wedding. So, I can relax about it now.No such excitement today. Think the highlight will be emptying the DW. 😀 I hope that all our poorlies are doing OK. I'm a bit worried about those who are going to be up ladders!
Happy Saturday to everyone.10 -
Good morning, thanks for starting Gers. The wedding plans sound exciting Gers, have you had any thoughts about what to wear? That would be my first thought, because I like clothes, but you wouldn't think so if you saw me day to day! Jogging trousers and fleeces are the norm. However, they're practical. The weather wasn't too bad yesterday I don't think, rain of course, but not alll day, just showers.I must do a bit of shopping today, though I'm trying to keep it to the minimum, and get freezer stocks down. It's Dgd's birthday party tomorrow, it'll be mainly family and a couple of her friends, so there'll be 18 - 19 of us. We'll all pitch in to help Dd though. It'll be busy, what with the dog, the kids, and everyone holding about 3 conversations at once, that's how it usually goes. Dd wants to start at lunchtime, so we'll be there for 12pm.Thinking of our poorly people, hope we hear from our mia's soon.Hope everyons has as good a day as they can, take care folks.11

Morning everyone the wedding does sound exciting Gers I’m with you scarlet love clothes especially shoes when on the rare occasions people see me out they don’t recognise me I’m always in fleeces and trainers and of course my padded gilets because I’m always so cold in fact I’ve caught sight of myself in the mirror before and wondered what the hell I’ve got on .calm but wet here still dark I’m going to try cooking a chicken today in my multi crock pot thing I haven’t got to grips with it yet it’s a pressure cooker slow cooker and all sorts and I really need to use it more other than that it’s just housework and I need to make a pan of soup for lunch the rest of the week. Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, how exciting visiting Seoul, I'm quite envious! Glad you have your flights booked and hotel sorted.
Enjoy the party Scarlet, our get togethers are usually mayhem.
It's nearly light, beginning to see a difference in the lenght of the days now. Not raining at the moment but it was earlier. We too had some sunshine (lovely double rainbows) and showers yesterday.
Washing dried and put away, DW can go on later when I'm in. Off for a pool swim first thing then up to Glasgow to take back the dress I bought, decided that although I like it I don't love it so will have a look whilst I'm there. No hurry yet. I'll pick up a friend on the way there and we've lunch booked for later.
Good luck Nanny, sounds like an epic task!
Glad your DM is recovering Topsy.
Thinking of Ruby, Nelski, Poppy and Marie.
Have a good weekend. Take care. XX

So much for being quiet outside, as the darkness lifted the high winds and driving rain have returned. 🙁 It's back to being noisy.I'm also thinking about what to wear in May, don't think that my usual casual / slobby will cover it. 😀 I have two lovely Scamp & Dude midi frocks which I bought for Australia last year though never wore. They are in the bottom of the underused wardrobe so I'll more than likely wear one of them. As for shoes- no idea yet. I don't have anything suitable.Whilst the wedding will be a traditional Korean one I don't yet know how formal guests are expected to be. All will be revealed later.9

Morning folks and thanks GERS for kicking off. Dull but fine here at the minute but, wouldn't you know it, light rain is forecast later for most of the day.
GERS it's getting exciting now! DS went to Seoul with work some years back, when in previous employment. He was only there for a couple of weeks but loved it. He was determined to return on holiday sometime but that's yet to happen! One of my nephews has worked in Seoul for a few years (teaching) but last year he moved to Singapore (still teaching). It's a small world for the younger generations these days! I thought I had been abroad when I went to the Isle of Man in my teens in the early 60's!! ROFL !!
No plans for today, but there's always catch up/postponed jobs to do if I cba! Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, recovering and MIA xx

Morning everyone
I'm actually posting at the same time as everyone else this morning. I've had a lovely lie in this morning. The doctor doubled the dosage of tablets to prevent migraines - the headache has gone but made me tired with a 'fuzzy' head - better than the headache though!
Quiet morning this morning- will get the ironing done and then taking little one for lunch at mam and dads. She'll stay the rest of the day and have a sleepover.
Gers - we're all going to enjoy hearing about the wedding - it'll be very interesting.
It's quiet and calm here just now but the wind is supposed to get up again later.
Well I'm going to get on with my jobs - hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning all, it's raining and very dark, dark enough to need the light on. Another day of plastering awaits or rather tidying up what was done yesterday and I want to clean the skirting boards if I can. There wasn't much for me to do yesterday so I tidied up and cleaned as best I could, at least we have the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom that are clutter free, all the others have something in them that doesn't belong and there's a clear one person path through the dining room but the table has disappeared 😂. In order to keep us fed I sorted through the chest freezer and there are a few more lo type meals to use up, I'm too tired to cook properly at the end of the day.
Gers how exciting, a trip to Seoul and a wedding !
Camelot hope you find your dress.
Izzy I try not to look in the mirror nowadays, I frighten myself when I see such an oldie looking back at me 😱
Scarlet enjoy the birthday party, sounds like it will be noisy fun.
TA hope you got to finish your hoovering. I don't know whether to buy a new corded or cordless one.
Right I'm being summoned so I'd better show willing and look like I'm working !
Take care all, brollies at the ready everyone.

NAN my vote would go to cordless. It's years since I had a corded one wrapping round my ankles and tripping me up! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

At the moment we've down tools as we're watching plaster dry, makes a change from paint though 😂
Thank you TA, may I ask which one you have ? DD voted corded but then there are 4 of them, one more bedroom than us and the dog. I need one that is easy to use on the stairs and I also need to check the weight because the last one I tried to pick up nearly put my back out as it was so heavy ! I do have my other one that I can use for now but I will have to have a good web wander when this decorating is done.
