Got an Interview to work in a Magistrates Court, Does anybody know what questions could come up?
I have been told that the Interview will be based around: Communicating and Influencing, Making Effective Decisions and Managing a Quality Service.
It is the star method Situation Task Action Result etc etc.

I don't know the specific questions that may come up, but I do know the format. You can expect to be asked about times where you had to:
- communicate a difficult message or influence someone to react a certain way to a message you were giving them
- make a decision about a complicated matter
- managing a service
The STAR format is inviting you to describe in a couple of sentences the situation you found yourself in, then in another couple of sentences what you did AND why (this is important as it gives the interviewer an insight in to what you know and how you think about problems), and then a couple of sentences about what happened as a result of your action.
It would be best to have two examples prepared for each of the three bullet points above. Make notes of the key points about each example on a cue-card or your phone so that you can look at your notes while travelling to the interview, or before you set off if you are driving.
Hope this helps, and good luck for the interview.
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0 -
Depends in part on what the job is and what level it is at. Someone working as a clerk, for example, is going to need a different skill set to someone managing the team. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
