    I am glad that the tip was useful to you, 160! Hopefully to others too.

    The only thing to keep in mind is that fruit in the nets is sold in supermarkets, which are more expensive than the market, so only buy netted fruit when it's reduced, to use the nets as brillo pads!

    i do only buy when i see it reduced, the kids are trained now to dash to reduced bit and see what they can find. bit sad really, but they like there exotic fruits, and only get them when they are reduced. ;)

    If you have Mares Tail in your garden (dreaded weed - impossible to get rid of!) then put some of that in a muslin bag or similar. Works just the same and, hey, it's FREE!!!!

    Thanks for the tips guys.

    I also use the fruit nets as them puff things for the bath, wrap a few together and put a lackie band in the middle with some string and Voila ! ;)

  • sorry to bring up an old thread, am a newbie to MSE. Would just like to mention that adding a teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda stops Brillo pads from rusting and they last ages. I took out a brillo pad about 3 weeks ago and its still pink !?!?!?
  • sorry shuda mentioned - add the tsp of soda bicarb to the water u keep the brillo pad in
