Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy..
Dinner last night was egg, bacon, chips and beans. Not sure about tonight, likely to be meat and veg.
Short day today.
Keep safe and well x

Good MorningOn train to work, wet and windy, even my brolly turned inside out so now look like a drowned rat.
pack up made last night incl the last portion of home made soup, hope today isn’t as busy as yesterday. Tomorrow I get 24 hours off before I start my weekend of nights so hope to do a Friday tidy at some point.
Dm is improving thankfully and is going to visit my DB. DGS birthday yesterday, he was happy with his present.
TA I’m hoping to stay somewhere near Ripon, my uncle’s farm used to be next to Fountains Abbey and I had amazing holidays up there each year. Remember bilberry picking at Brimham Rocks.
Hugs to all feeling under the weather. Hope Ruby & Nelski are ok. Enjoy the rest of your day. Take care.11 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.It seems windy here, but not raining at the minute - yesterday was a terrible day, with the wind and rain.Another bad night, though I think I've had a bit more sleep than the night before. I'm worried about my dd, she has an ear infection, and of course can't get to see anyone. She is going to try and see the pharmacist in one of the chemists in the town, this morning. Not much planned for today, there's always household jobs of course.Thinking of our poorly people, I hope we hear from Nelski and Ruby soon.Take care today folks.11

Morning All
Sshhhh, it's not raining at the moment! I really don't think we can cope with much more rain, the ground is sodden.
DW has just been on, forgot to put it on last night. Washing not quite dry so will leave that on the airer for now. Coal delivery I hope today, I've left the side gate open as although the coalman can open it from the outside he doesn't close it and it bangs in the wind so it's tied up with a bungee.
Glad your DM is improving topsy, belated happy birthday to your DGS.
Sorry you're not sleeping scarlet, hope tonight will be better.
More spending at work yesterday, still not sure where the money is coming from but I'm sure someone will work it out. New HT went up in my estimations yesterday when he went round with uniform jumpers for those who choose not to wear them.
Hope you all have a good day, hugs to the poorlies and those struggling. Take care. XX10 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Another damp day forecast but the good news is that the rain will be lighter! SCARLET I was with you having yet another rubbish night. They are getting too regular.
I finally defrosted the big freezer yesterday, re-organised everything and even managed to get some stuff in from the smaller freezer. All that's left in the small freezer now is veg and fruit I think.. But I somehow fear that my hopes of combining the two may be in vain though. Oh well at least it's still there as an overflow for ys stuff!!
Today's jobs are the usual Thursday clean of bathroom and kitchen. Then I might pop down into town as there are odd bits I need. I don't get weekly grocery deliveries but some stuff doesn't keep for two weeks (bananas being one!)
TOPSY I've spent many an hour bilberry picking over the years. Nothing nicer than a "mucky mouth pie" and custard!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, convalescing or fed up. I keep hoping N and R will be discharged from the sick bay. Take care all and stay safe and dry!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Good morning folks.Yesterday felt like the end. We had incessant torrential rain, howling gales and even a short thunderstorm. Out of the blue the lightning was so sharp and the thunder so loud it sounded like the planet was cracking into bits. Today we are promised the same. 🙁 As the weather was so blooming awful I retreated into a form of idleness never seen before. Luckily I had only to reheat some of the food I'd made on Tuesday so even the kitchen saw little action apart from the DW.Today there is a planned power outage from 10.00am until 3.00pm. The stars have aligned as I'm taking my friend up to Oban for shopping. I've also a book to return to Amazon as I ordered the wrong one.The nephew who lives in Seoul has now sent through more details of his wedding in May so we can now all start looking at flights and hotels. My SIL has to be fitted with an Hanbok, a traditional wedding outfit, glad it's not me.Right, need to move myself. My thoughts are with our recovering and missing as well as our poorlies. 🙋♀️ Happy Thursday to all.11

Hi everyone,
The heatwave of last summer seems a very distant memory now. We have rain forecast for the next few days so it's just as well we have a lot to do in the house. Steve has several repairs to do and I will be cleaning all the little nooks and crannies that the cleaners don't get time to do. This morning I will do an inventory of all the consumables and go out to replenish those. I'll go to Colne because there is a Lidl there and also I need to pick up some fabric there (shh, don't report me to the de-stashing thread, I need it , honest).
We had a lovely time yesterday, before the meal we went over to the Cheshire Oaks retail park where I got a kagoule and a handbag, both planned for purchases and reduced to less than half price. We then went for the meal to a very busy Gusto, we have never been there before and the food was very good. Sister-in-law was suitably surprised to see us when she walked in to the restaurant and she looked happy about it so that was good.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning all, it's so dark today we have the lights on and still it rains, some of it torrential. Another day of demolishing decorating awaits. I was shocked to see just how much stuff was in the old desk, I think Mr Fix It had put a Hogwarts invisibility cloak over it. 3 large bags of stuff have been put upstairs ready for sorting and some of it will need throwing away or cs-ing 🤞. The demolished desk is in bits in the dining room ready to be put in the shed but we're waiting for a break in the rain to do that. At the moment he's emptying out his cabinet and I have no idea what's in there either but it seems a lot 🙄. Mine will be easy as it's less than half full 👼
We removed some of the wallpaper yesterday and sadly some of the plaster came away with it, things never go as planned do they, so he'll will have to sort that out too, good job he's a jack of all trades ! Next we have to remove the fireplace surround and more wallpaper.
Hope everyone has a good day
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.
nan xx

Morning all, rained most of the night, the park is flooded and the stream/river down the footpath steps at the front is a raging torrent. When you cross the road , the deep chamber they put in the road in front of us and next door after we were flooded 7 years ago is doing it's job , you can hear the water rushing through it before it goes into the river too.The curry I made last night was a success, I found a tub of butter sauce from a takeaway before Xmas & put it in the sc with the chicken breasts from the butchers, which were coated in chilli, ginger & lime marinade. I also had a pack of onion bhaji stuff you mix with water to coat your onions and then deep fry. I don't have a deep fat fryer so used my ninja grill, they kind of melded together and were a hit too. Still got half a packet left.DH has his consultation this afternoon about his hip so DS2 will pick up DGS, he doesn't get DGD today. Yesterday we all met back at our house as a big parcel had arrived ,so they stayed for a bit which was nice.Topsy , my brolly blew inside out tooSomething with a pork fillet tonight, not quite decided what yet though possibly a mustard sauce.Take care all in this dark horrible weather x

Topsy-turvy & TA, I love bilberry & apple pie, we used to pick bilberries above Scammonden reservoir as kids as we lived in Saddleworth.
Snoozer, you will have gone past me in Runcorn on your way to Cheshire Oaks, it's about 20m from me.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
