Help with trying to find a fixed rate mortgage for a near end of term mortgage

Our fixed rate mortgage will come to an end and we will just have two years left so far I cannot find a lender who would fix for the final two years, including my current lender. this forces us onto the higher Homeowner variable rate. Is there any advice or help out there? We took a fixed rate out five years ago, thinking we would be able to fix for the final two, but are dissappointed to know that most lenders will not fix if you have less than 5 years, but as a minimum need 2 years and 3 months to fix for two years!

Can you not apply for a slightly longer term? Can always then overpay to keep the term the same as you have remaining now if you wish.0

I think by extending and overpaying wouldn't the early repayment penalties be applied0

Don’t they offer a tracker? If only have 2 years left is the variable rate that much higher? Would you be able to overpay so you pay it off quicker and save interest that way?31/03/24: Debt total £12,400/13,192.130

Depending on the balance can you get a balance transfer to a 0% credit card and pay it off that way?0

Anyway extra the interest for the extra 3 months won't be a huge amount comparing to being stuck on higher rate0
