Good morning, it's an early start here after a bad night.
I don't know what the weather's doing, nothing in particulay I don't think - yesterday turned out wet and windy.
Yesterday was an ok day, not a lot happening today apart from I'm meeting an ex work colleague for coffee in one of the local cafes, I can walk down though, it's on our main street.
Mehefin, glad to see your post yesterday, I'm pleased to see that you're picking up a bit.
Still no news from Ruby or Nelski though.
Thinking of them, and our other poorly people, take care folks.

Morning All
Wet and windy again, the wind woke me during the night but I managed to get back to sleep after a quick pit stop. Washing just finishing so will hang that on the pulley before I go to work.
Got my parcel yesterday, it's a dress for DDs wedding. Tried it on and it's a perfect fit but still not sure. Seems to be a bit early to be looking but I quite like it, just worried I may see something else I like better and will be stuck with this one. Decisions!
Gers, I would keep the wardrobe. It's useful for storage even if you don't hang anything in it.
taff - he's new to Head Teachering, he will have to learn to compromise a little. Not much of a sense of humour yet, hoping we can change that!
Rotten for you Izzy with your colleague.
Good day at work without the children or teachers yesterday, lots got done that would have been a challenge with constant interruptions, hoping today is calm.
Glad to hear you're feeling better Mehefin.
Missing Ruby and Nelski, hope all's well with you.
Hugs to the poorlies.
Have a good day, take care. XX10 -
Morning folks. After having a great sleep on Monday night it was very different last night. My eldest nephew began texting me and, oddly, it woke me up. We ended up discussing visits for about an hour. Then, once we'd finished the weather went wild, if that wasn't a storm it was a first cousin to one. So much noise from the rain and wind! I'm really fed up with the constant rain.Whilst my cleaner was here yesterday I went out into town, took rubbish to the tip and did a little light shopping. Before she arrived I made some spinach soup and later cooked up a big pan of red cabbage, 😋 roasted some strips of belly pork 😋 and red peppers. 😋 I'm never going to manage 30 different types of plants a week but I'm making an effort.Today I'll just hunker down against the weather. Not much planned so I'll see what comes to mind, I'm sure something will. My wardrobe non-problem will stew in the back of my mind.Meanwhile, healing thoughts to our poorlies, you are missed. Happy Wednesday to all.10

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. has anyone else had the same bother getting on this morning? Not logging in but actually getting on MSE, it kept timing me out.
SNOOZER if you made it up to TA land yesterday I hope you had a safe journey with the torrential rain, gales and floods hindering your journey. MEHEFIN it was good to hear you seem to be slowly on the mend. I hope it's the same for NELS and RUBY. DP1 your DD is certainly seeing the world in her job. TOPSY we have our summer residence (aka static 'van!) near to Brimham Rocks, we might bump into each other if you get up here in the summer!
I never got on here yesterday I think time caught up with me when I was rushing round to get ready to meet BFF for coffee 'n lunch. As usual much catching up was done and our 3rd friend joined us again, just for lunch and a catch up. I was tempted by fish and chips as not had any for ages. Naughty but nice, very nice!
My new vac finally arrived yesterday and that got assembled last night and I will give it a try shortly. Then it's the freezer defrost that never happened on Monday! I have brought the fan down which sits on a buffet to assist the ice melt! I am expecting a flood down the steps into the garage!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, convalescing or fed up. Take care all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9 -
Morning everyone
Wild and windy here - little kitten wanted out but turned round and came back in.
I had an electrician booked this morning to change my thermostat - it doesn't stop at the temperature you have it set at. He's been and gone in the space of 2 minutes, saying he hasn't got the stuff to do it today so they'll re-arrange - well that was the job, so I'm a bit confused what he thought he was here for.
I might pop down to mam and dads this morning then I have an appointment about my memory - hopefully how bad it is is just due to long covid. And then an appointment with the nurse as the doctor wants my blood pressure checked. I've had an almost constant headache for the last few weeks - the only thing that helps is my migraine medication but I only get 6 tablets a month and it just comes back the next day.
Little one has gone to nursery without me for the first time today - two members of staff are now trained to do her finger pricks - they'll be worried about her alarm going off all day. Hopefully they'll manage ok but can ring DD if they need to. We've had lots of chats along the lines of ' no-one else has their granny at nursery' to which she usually replies that she's so lucky!
Well I'm waffling so I'll go. Hope everyone has a good day today x10 -
Morning everyone Camelot I bought my dress for my sons wedding early and I felt the same as you then decided I wasn’t going to look at anything else before the wedding and I wouldn’t be tempted it’s not as if I wear dresses it will be hung in the wardrobe for ever now . I lost 1.5 last night so next week should get into the next stone down got to be good this week.MEHEFIN pleased to hear you are improving hope Nels and Ruby are both on the mend . I feel like my feet have never touched the ground since I got up so I am sitting having a quick cuppa before work chicken stir fry tonight I felt as if I was going to come down with something yesterday couldn’t stop sneezing and had a blinding headache and just generally felt rotten but I’m alright today but we had a nasty shock at work the hall next door and there’s a lady in there whose 78 and she does the line dancing and excercise classes we knew no more until the ambulance came lights flashing and ran in with the defibrillator but sadly they couldn’t save her she was doing a excercise class for people with disabilities and she collapsed and died . Talking about excercise I have decided Friday night I am going to join the Zumba class wish me luck . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing9

Hi everyone,
TA, yes we did make it up. There was a bit of flooding on the A65 but we've had it a lot worse, I remember once we got to Ilkley and didn't think we'd get any further, every road seemed blocked by floods. It's not actually raining atm woohoo.
Having said that it looks like we have quite a bit to do round the house so at least we won't be tempted out if the weather is terrible. The large cupboard where we keep the spare linens, consumables and stuff we don't want the guests to have access to seems to have become a bit of a jumble in the couple of months since we were last here. We always have to sort out the kitchen cupboards because people move, break or lose (decide they like something and it disappears) things.
It will have to wait today though because we are going to see Steve's sister who is 75 today, she is 8 years older than him so 10 years older than me, by the time Steve was 12 she was married but they still have a close relationship.
Have a good day.

Morning all. It is sunny today and I expect the heatwave to come tomorrow. Reason why? I bought me and OH waterproof coats in a sale yesterday...Neither of us have one so now we do...I spent quite a while using up my glue sticks to make a few cinnamon ornaments, a mash together christmas tree made of baubles and a wreath. It was fun, so I might make more...I have another wreath shape in the garage that OH used and one in the garden that I used to make one many moons ago when we went to a local big house for a lesson in wreath making..Actually, maybe I should do that this year, it's a piece of wee to do...Rest of the day plans, meet friends for coffee tonight, hoover upstairs and downstairs, start moving food to make way for shelves.Camelot, so what if you see another dress? Thi s just means you must do as the Polish do and change during the day and look fabulous
OK Gers, my mouth is officially watering. dp1, hope they can help you. Izzy, what a shock for everyone, poor woman...snoozer, have a nice day.TA, hope the new hoover is good for you! Nanny, anything DIY is stupid expensive these days...happy future wallpapering
Take care all, shout to the MIAs...

Hello all, I'm bit late but I do have an excuse, honest ! We went to a small retail park this morning and purchased the wallpaper etc, my purse is now empty 😢, then went to Halfords to get some new windscreen wipers. We were just going to the car when it looked like someone had thrown a bucket of water over us, the rain was torrential ! Whoever is ordering the Ark please put my name down 'cos I can't swim 🤣
I have pressed "go" on the dw and I am now having a warming cuppa. After lunch we'll start to empty out the lounge of all the things that we won't need for a while. Mr Fix It is letting his 4 ft desk go at last🙏. I've brought him round to my way of thinking that we don't now need one in the lounge as well as one in the office. We also have 2 computers and 4 laptops, not including mine, so I'll have to work on getting rid of at least 2 of those too. Watch this space 😉
Snoozer happy birthday to Steve's sister 🎉
Well done Izzy and Rosy for the weight loss, it is something to be proud of so hold your heads up high !
dp1 grr to the electrician. Hope little one gets on well at nursery without you today.
TA hope you're enjoying your new vac.
Gers stay safe and cwtched in this weather.
Camelot glad the dress fits, now you have to make sure you don't loose or gain any weight before the big day 😁 I went down a dress size and had to take mine in !
Scarlet enjoy your meet up for coffee.
Take care all, stay safe and warm.

Morning all,it's not raining
.Thanks for starting Scarlet.Glad you got lots done Camelot.
Glad to see you're improving Mehefin, & hope the others unwell are too.Izzy, that was a nasty shock, so sad.My old neighbour has just rung, and all being well with her Dad I will go to hers on Friday. She was telling me the woman we sold our house to in the adjoining semi, has fallen out with her a bit as they have had an extension done and she wanted them to put it on the other side of the house. That would have lead to more alterations inside necessary so put it in the original spot.
I've got a curry in the sc, never know what time we'll get back from collecting DGS from school. One of the main roads is being resurfaced and it took ages on Monday.I've got my sewing machine out, the last time I used it for my alterations the needle jammed and I couldn't unscrew the holder so got DS1 to do it this morning before he went out. DH also popped back to collect the flask I made for him and DS2- only realised at 'brew time', good thing it's not far!Right better get on, hope you all have a good day, & Snoozer HB to your SIL x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
