Tfl weekly cap

Hi
I am visiting London for a week on Friday and I've had a look and I know they do a daily cap on contactless cards. I have seen they also do weekly caps. However the weekly cap looks like it's from Monday to Sunday so this would not work for me would it.
Ideally would like to avoid paying for Oyster card but might have no choice to. Also can someone advise if I go from zone 1 to 2 the price is £38 quid but if I were to go to Greenwich would it still be zone 2 or not as its on the edge. Thank you

Greenwich is in zones two and three, so it counts as zone 2 if coming from zone 2 and zone 3 if coming from zone 3, basically whichever is cheaper for the journey being made. Therefore for you coming from zone one, it counts as a zone 2 station.
Weekly capping on Oyster only works Monday to Sunday too, unless you buy a travelcard in advance. So you need to work out if it is better for you to buy a travelcard for the seven days or just spend on contactless.0 -
Hi the weekly cap says you get 7 days of travel but pay for 5. If we done contactless we would be paying for the daily cap which is more.
It would be 53.90 for daily capping and for travel card with the cost of oyster on top which I think is mad it is 45.40.Mortgage free wannabe

If you know you will hit the cap of course. If there are many days where you will only take two journeys or walk a lot or use the bus a lot you probably won't hit the cap.

I don’t know the answers to your questions but it would be worth opening an account with TfL and registering your contactless card/oyster with it as it would allow you to claim refunds should you be delayed.0
