In present buying news(!) I have ordered a couple of battery operated LED bedroom lights for DNephews. One is the Star Wars logo for the 7 yo and the other is a Dinosaur with 4 yo name on. Both from Menkind. B
Hope your sister is okay @sammy_kaye18 xx
Oh I will have to have a look at the Menkind website. My littlest niece is 4 and she loves dinosaurs so I wonder if I can find one for her too.
No more Christmas prep done here at the minute.Time to find me again2 -
Glad your sister is ok sammy-kaye, having PTSD mixed with an abusive ex, is a tough call for someone's MH.
Spent this afternoon tidying up 2 wall cupboards in our bedroom, one now has a 'travel' area with bags, travel adaptors, etc all with a place and the present cupboard all neatened up and doing that I remembered that I bought a Radley pen for Mum, all boxed up from the American outlet store, only to find the ink has ran out - will have to get a refill before gifting it to Mum either for Mother's day or save for Christmas - unsure at the minute.

I scored another gift in a CS today. A stack of 3 wrapped lavender soaps in a pretty ribbon for £2. Will go to MIL for Mother’s Day (she loves lavender).I also got a BNWT Earth Squared tweed handbag and matching scarf for £6.50 and a Little Venice Cake Company China plate which is exclusive to their Dubai Artelier for £3.99. Both will

Love the soaps @Coxy11 and the bag set.
You seem to find some bargains in the CS near you. I haven't been to ours in ages but I know we have to go and pick up glasses soon in town - myself and husband - so I may see if I can sneak away to have a look then!Time to find me again3 -
Love the CS bargains Coxy! I had a sort out of present cupboard this week as well as more unpacking and realised I'd also bought Mum a Radley pen from the outlet when we were away. However the ink has run dry, so need to get a re-fill. Will either be a mother's day or Xmas present haven't decided yet.
Everyone has admired my pre-loved bag so much I bought another, same style different colour from the same site, unsure who it would go to, but DD has requested 2 bags, one for her college, the other for her job. As this fits in A4 folders for her scripts I'm giving it to her.4 -
Just back from fat club(!) and I popped into Boots en route. They still have a lot of Christmas stock at 50% off. Stacks of the S&G spa in a box (hat box) for £68 reduced to £34. I did get a MissGuided shower gel and body lotion set (200ml of each) in a box for £4 down from £8. Will put this away for gifting as doesn't shout Christmas.
There were lots of Fila (boxers, shower gel) sets, and 3 x shower gels for around £7 and plenty of Hogwarts stuff, single face masks, and small body wash/lotion sets, but as I said, lots of broken packaging. If you're making up hampers or raffle baskets though, it could be ideal for that.
I also got a Habitat boxed set of 3 shower gels (150ml) in Age Concern on Thursday - £3.99. Box is Christmassy so will either regift or split up for a hamper.
I know you can get Radox/Nivea/Dove body wash for 99p/£1 but it's nice to gift something slightly more luxuriousCross-stitch WIP: Fiver Friday challenge 2025 founding member 😊 Read 25 books in 2025 11/25 Currently reading The Cliff House by Amanda Jennings5 -

My family love Radox and things like that but I always think its nice to give things that are a little more of a luxury - like my grandmother who loves Bayliss and Harding hand soap. She wont buy it for herself so I always make a point of getting her some for Christmas or sending her little surprises throughout the year.
She mentioned recently that she couldn't find slow cooker liners so my son looked in Poundland whilst he was in work yesterday and found 5pks of them so he brought 3 packs so we have posted them to her today so I know she is well stocked for a while.Time to find me again5 -
I saw that Boots was still at 50% off the other day. In days of Yore the Xmas stock would be long gone by now. There isn't a huge variety of items but plenty of the ones that are still left, like the HP stuff. I only liked a make up brush set still there in a case, but it's still a bit steep at 50% off and unless their eventual 70% off falls on one of my days off, I won't be able to get in.2

Gosh I haven’t been on here in ages – life does get in the way sometimes! We had a busy half term the week before last and Poppy our dog was spayed last week so we’ve been looking after her. I haven’t done anything of note with gift buying etc but I’ve just noticed that it was the 25th yesterday so I might try and get some more bunting done today, if it’s too tricky with the children then I’ll do some tomorrow. I have however been beavering away on my ‘Christmas Cottage’ cross stitch and I’m really pleased with the progress, I can’t wait to have it hanging on the wall this Christmas!
I’m not feeling to great this morning, I had a bit of a funny tummy yesterday afternoon. My husband has had a chesty cold and the boys have been sneezing so I think we’re just a house of germs at the moment, par for the course with school age children. It’ll be a quiet day here as Poppy still can’t go on long walks and we need to keep an eye on her.
sammy_kaye it sounds like a lot has been going on your end, I’m sorry to hear that and I hope things have settled down a bit now for everyone.
Spendless I hope you are doing ok. Your trip sounds wonderful, what a great trip to accompany your husband on. DH and I toured the west coast USA on our honeymoon and also visited Palm Springs, one memory I have of there is we went into an ice cream shop and weren’t sure what flavour to have, they insisted we tried lots of different ones to see what we wanted and by the end I really didn’t need a tub of ice cream! We had to buy one though after testing all that free ice cream!
Coxy thanks for the names of the YouTubers I’ll definitely look them up. Although this is always my worry selling online – things getting broken or lost! I know it’s fine most of the time though so it’s a great way to raise money. Great finds in the charity shop! We have one charity shop here which can be a bit hit and miss, I’ll try and get to the next town soon which has a few to look around.

I saw a Ralph Lauren bag in TK Maxx today reduced to £38. I bought it. Unsure at the minute if it will become mine, or a Xmas present for either DM or part present for DD. will decide nearer the time.
Walked through Boots, still at 50%. Looking it up the 70% sale was mid March last year so think this will be the same. I totally understand from a business point of view why they got rid of the Jan dates, but this seems far too long after Christmas to still have stock lingering around.
