Hello again, seems to be an ok morning, not blowing a gale or pouring with rain.We went to the seaside yesterday, it was packed, everyone else had gone as well! Still, it was nice to get out of the house and walk for a while. For the east coast in January it wasn't bad at all, though the wind was blowing from the south. We came home via a Morries, I did a little bit of shopping, not much was needed. I'm trying to live out of the freezer as much as we can.We had a pork stir fry for our evening meal. To be honest stir fry is not a favourite of mine but Dh likes it so we usually have it about once a week.We went through Dgs's toys yesterday morning, and sorted out a few things for the charity shop, they can go tomorrow.I don't know what we'll do today, there are always household jobs. I would like to get out in the garden, but it's so wet still. I might have a go at making look a bit better. I noticed that the snowdrops are popping through, brave little flowers aren't they. They never fail, even in the bleakest times of winter.Anyway I'll stop waffling on and hope that everyone has a good day. I know that Taff and Izzy will be meeting themselves coming back as usual!Thinking of our poorly people, Ruby and Nelski haven't posted for a while, and thoughts to others.Take care folks.12

Morning folks - thanks for starting us off Scarlett. A windy walk on the east coast will certainly blow away cobwebs. Once again the noisy high wind is back here, it's been blustery all night. So far, no rain.Yesterday I was very decisive and drove down to Glasgow to do all the stuff I had planned for Friday, apart from meet up with Camelot although I dropped something off at her house for one of her DGC. Then I had five stops to make and was back home by 1.30'ish. On the way down the weather was kind to me but not so much on the return trip. The main A83 was closed at the Rest and Be Thankful (heavy rain) so traffic was being taken through Glen Croe by convoy which meant a bit of a delay each way. This old road goes deep into to glen with lots of twists and turns, it was originally built by soldiers in 1777.When down there I bought some vegan food for the chap up the hill's wife. It was being launched in Waitrose, I had a taste of one and thought it a tad bland but I'm not the target group.Once home I sat around feeling rather worn out. In days gone past I'd find a 200 mile round trip a breeze, whilst it's not difficult I feel tired after it now. At least I got everything done which had been bothering me.I'm still in bed feeling quite snug, I may remain here a while longer. My thoughts are with our poorlies and proper poorlies. Happy Sunday to all.11

P.S. I found my 'missing' money yesterday, it was an error in a formula which I'd obviously edited with my eyes shut! I gave myself a slap for being an idiot and a hug for tracking it down. 😀12

Morning! No idea what the weather is, the curtains are still drawn. Gave friend a hand to fetch sofa but luckily there was a very nice man who helped her carry the heavy bits so I didn't have to. We asked him for a recommendation for somewhere to eat and ended up in one of those enormous posh deli garden centers. I may have spent some money and rescued a couple of very cut price plants. Scarlet, I'm not so sure abut that anymore, may be it's the chest infection but all I seem to do after any exertion these days is sleep on the sofa. I fell asleep on it all last evening and then from twelve until four this morning. I did try to go to sleep in my bed but then realised I was ravenous, came down for toast, haven't gone back up yet. I haven't even finished putting the christmas decorations away yet. I swear I'm going backwards half the time. Never mnd, onwards etc...Gers, same as...very annoying isnt it? Scarlet, I'd love to as well, but same , soaking wet here. Coxy, hope you had fun. Nanny, good to see you had fun! Waggy finger for the unwell, don't do too much....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11

Morning All
Dry at the moment but a very stiff breeze, there's a towel load in the WM so may hang that out for a while and hope it doesn't rain.
Glad you found your money Gers and sorry I missed you.
Well done on rescuing the plants taff, there's always room in the garden for something new!
Envious of your trip to the seaside Scarlet, great for blowing away the cobwebs.
I had a lovely day with South African friends yesterday, traditional SA lunch (not good for the diet or arteries) and a walk along the river and through the town with a visit to my favourite charity shop. The drive was ok, lots of standing water but everyone was driving very sensibly.
Swim this morning then some shopping for the week ahead, back to work tomorrow after a very relaxing couple of weeks off.
Hope the poorlies are feeling better. Have a peaceful Sunday and take care. XX11 -
Hi everyone,
Another insomniac here, I was awake at 4, fell asleep again just before 7 to be awakened after a few minutes by Steve blowing his nose in the en-suite (it echoes and he was blowing as if his life depended on it). I di manage to drop off again until a few minutes ago.
It was lovely to get the family back, we had steak and chips for tea, pizza for Esben and then I spent a mind numbing hour wrapping up toy figures in play-doh, he was happy though. He's still upstairs which is why I'm able to post.
It's dry today so we'll hopefully get out for a walk.
Have a good day and hugs to the poorly people.12 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. I am envious of anybody living close to the coast. We are smack bang in the middle of the country so it couldn't be any further away! The weatherman is just cheering me up - not - with tales of woe about all the rain and wind. I can't believe it's still only the 8th of the month. It seems to have been January forever and Spring doesn't get any nearer. Is the calendar stuck!
Yesterday's washed bedding dried overnight in the back bedroom, just in time for the load currently washing to take its place on the airer.
Not a lot planned for today other than some catch up of tv progs I either missed or slept through. TAFF I'm as bad as you, as soon as I get comfy on the sofa I am asleep! I can sleep anywhere except where I should be sleeping - bed!! This morning was another silly o'clock wakening. Grr.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) as always for our poorlies or getting better. The lack of posts from NELS and RUBY is a bit worrying. Take care all and stay safe xx

Morning all,
Not to make anyone envious but I had 9.5 hours sleep last night but woke up as couldn't breathe through my nose. We are now at the 'expel' stage of the lurgy and it's gross. I too have a baby elephant living with me @snoozer - every...single...day...
Eltham Palace was very interesting. We didn't brave the gardens though as it was raining hard and very windy. Had a mediocre cake on a very sticky cafe table afterwards. Was miffed as they didn't have the apple shortcake I usually have - wonder if it was 'cake of 2022'. We had a naughty Chinese takeout last night with DD and DS2 - making the most of them being around for dinner as one is usually out or working. DS2 returns to uni next Sunday.
Today we have BIL, SIL (if she is well enough to leave the house) and DNiece coming for a roast. SIL has lots of issues, so will see if she ventures out.
I will be going food shopping this morning to Aldi - mainly F&V plus some cupboard staples. Freezers still have plenty of meat to use up.
I too struggle with long distance journeys now @Gers - I guess usually I'd share with DH but occasionally it's just me. I get a bit anxious which is really silly but there you are.
Glad you got out for a seaside walk @ScarletRibbons - sounds lovely.
Sending good wishes to our poorlies @RedRuby1231, @Nelski, @London_1, @poppy811, @nannywindow and anyone else in need of some hugs.
Have a good day everyone
Coxy

Morning all, we've had torrential rain all night but it's stopped for now, it's probably wore itself out ! I thought the cough had gone but no it was back at 5am with a vengeance 😠 I did drop off again but had lots of bizarre dreams, one was losing my purse 😱
I did lots of putting away yesterday but got myself in a bit of a tizz when trying to clamp the folding bed together, I just couldn't work out where the bar went and I've done it many times without a problem. I'm really get worried about myself these days.
Today Mr Fix It wants to go to Lidl for a tool of some sort so I'll go along for a look as I never get to look around, I just do the food shopping with blinkers on. I do hope they have one in stock as sometimes they don't get a delivery and I'll get my ear chewed off all day !
Snoozer how's the new car ?
taff take it easy today that's an order ! Mr Fix It can fall asleep at the drop of a hat too.
Gers glad you found your money.
Take care all, enjoy your day if you can. Hugs to all the ones in the poorly camp and anyone in need.
nan xx

Hi everyone, heavy raining again! Hope it stops in a couple of hours when we go and watch DGD playing football, we got soaked yesterday watching DGS.I made a Thai green curry last night when we got in from the match after a quick stop off at Morries to get DH some 'starters', still cheaper than a takeaway. Picked up 2 packs of those part baked rolls for 15p! BB date is fairly close but they can be used when we have soup. I've taken a chicken joint out of the freezer for later and I'll use up the last of the frozen roasties. A pple crumble for after for the men.My NY tidy seems to have stalled so will have to get back on it soon. I was meant to be going to visit my old next door neighbour this coming week but she messaged to say her Dad is in hospital so we'll just have to see how things go.Hope everything is ok with Nels & Ruby, and the others we know are unwell, hugs xx
