It's good you are able to do a lot of the work yourself and it will be adding value to your property so definitely worth it.

Budgeting realistically. So I allowed myself a personal spending allowance as I knew cold turkey wouldn't work for me. I also looked at ways to cut back. I went sim only on my phone, I got rid of VM TV and just kept broadband. Also look at other ways to earn money, surveys, receipt scanning apps, sell things on fb and vinted for clothing.
Have an Emergency Fund and a sinking Fund. I had all mine on 0% which helped as well. Its hard as you want to be doing stuff and buying what you want but reality is you can't have everything. Plus all the money you are putting towards debt could go on paying for some of the things you want. So use it as a motivator.
