Don't you just use MCOL which is UK wide not specific to a country?0

More details would be helpful. What is the nature of the dispute, and who is the dispute with? A friend who you've lent money to, a company who have failed to deliver goods, a builder who's done sub-standard work, etc. ? If we know the nature of the dispute, there may be more suitable avenues than small claims or MCOL.

My recollection for Scotland is that you are expected to accommodate an individual for location, by using the court nearest them.
Called simple procedure in Scotland, rather than small claims. Information is available here. Simple procedure (scotcourts.gov.uk)
My (limited) experience was that the clerk of the court was very helpful in talking through anything I didn't understand for an individual pursuing a claim. Solicitors and professionals are expected to be self-sufficient.
It may matter where the dispute took place before Scottish Courts will agree they have jurisdiction.0
