Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark, damp and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was pasta in a creamy tomato sauce with sausages, clear up of xmas cake/dessert for afters. Tonight not sure what we'll be having.
Day off today so the normal chores to do.
Keep safe and well x

Morning, thanks for starting us off nmlc.I've been awake on and off a lot last night, mostly down to the hugely noisy blustery winds raging outside and the torrential rain battering the house. 🙁 I may need an ark after all.Yesterday my trip up to Oban was successful and enjoyable, having company for half of the journey makes a big difference. My friends bought a huge amount as they're still catching up from running down their stocks. I didn't need a lot so had a wee spell drinking coffee in the cafe.Ages ago, 01 November last year, I ordered a cotton rug from an online company with delivery within five working days. After two delays I tried to cancel the order but got stonewalled until finally I emailed the CEO (in USA). That brought a very swift response from an 'executive' who tried to get the rug sent. I kept on repeating my legal rights which eventually got the order cancelled and my refund is on the way. 🤞On Wednesday I looked on Argos, saw the perfect substitute rug, larger and cheaper, ordered it online and collected it yesterday. Now it's looking good in the new upstairs room. Job done!Today's plan was to meet up with the lovely Camelot for a bit of breakfast and lots of chat but, because of the dreadful weather it's not going to happen. 🙁 Instead I'll venture a drive into town to the RM delivery office to hand over a couple of Amazon returns and maybe, just maybe bring back a bacon roll. Not the same as plan but it'll have to do, there'll be another day.Now I'm sending healing thoughts to all our poorlies, Ruby, Poppy, Marie, Mehefin, Nelski and all those with wracking coughs. Happy Friday to everyone.12

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. All sounds calm outside despite a warning of wind. Has it missed us or yet to arrive?!
I'm up and at 'em early as I have an Ocado delivery due between 8 and 9 and they are usually on the dot. An email just received tells me there are no subs and all p & c. It's mainly fridge and cupboard stuff as I am on a serious mission to get freezer stocks down. I would love to be able to get everything in the bigger freezer. Maybe this is the year it will happen!
I also have a vacuum delivery due. After my current one started making an odd noise and smelling of burning t'other day I am frightened of using it. It's not worth getting it looked at it's had a life well spent! So much for a no spending new year!
I think I can safely say this cough is easing by the day now. I only woke up once coughing through the night and coughing fits through the day come in fits and starts more infrequently. Take heart fellow coughers there is an end to it!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, getting better or fed up. I hope we hear soon from NELS and RUBY, the silence is getting worrying. Take care all and stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning everyone and thanks for the start @nmlc x
I slept better last night so definitely think this cough is easing. This after a tetchy phone call with Mum about Attendance Allowance. You would think I was asking her to walk over hot coals. Anyway, I will plough on with investigating whether she's eligible as every little helps.
Sorry your meeting up has been postponed @Gers and @camelot1001 but definitely the right decision x
Glad you're feeling brighter @TravellingAbuela but annoying about the vacuum replacement so early into the year!
Hope your appointment went well @-taff x
Hope you enjoyed the pizza meal @RosyRed - I have a 'Christmas' meal booked for 24 January
Glad Mum is improving @topsyturphy and hope you caught up on your sleep x
Hoping @nannywindow got away for the night and is feeling brighter x
I managed to get 2 loads of washing done yesterday - half dried on the line outside as it was a pleasant day. Need to strip DS2's bedding today (when he gets up, as was working until midnight). We are off to Eltham Palace tomorrow using our EH membership so want to get ahead with the washing if I can. Dinner is SW sausage jambalaya.
Hugs to all the poorlies including @poppy811, @London_1, @RedRuby1231, @Nelski, @mehefinand anyone else I've forgotten xx
Have a good day all

Morning All
As Gers said it's blowing a gale and the rain is battering the windows, not a great day for a drive down for Gers so we'll do it another day, shame as I was looking forward to it.
I'll go for a swim first thing and collect the goggles I left there yesterday, realised when I got home so phoned them and thankfully they were found, I left them in the cubicle when I was getting dressed.
Good trip to the 'cheap' shop yesterday, they are such a lovely bunch and very much want the food (and some other goods) to be kept out of landfill so load you up with whatever they have. I ended up with three bags of goodies for the grand sum of £2.40! Some of it has gone in the freezer, some to my friends (there was a large pot luck bag of frozen items, some of which I won't use) and lots of lovely fresh fruit and veg. Shame I can't visit very often but they are only open when I'm usually at work.
Hope you enjoyed the show Nanny.
Good luck with your DM Coxy. Fantastic you could get the washing on the line.
Glad your DM is improving Topsy.
Pleased to hear your cough is improving TA, shame you've had to buy a new vacuum though.
Bathrooms to clean today and a good tidy round but that shouldn't take too long.
Happy Friday, take care. XX9 -
Morning all looks like the windy weather will be hitting us later tonight but shouldn't be too bad down here in the south east hopefully . Today i need to go and pick up some bits from the gifting page just clothing for Matthew so DD2 doesn't have to worry she has got everything when she comes to stay . DH is still coughing but it is less frequent they are wearing masks at his works again now.
TA shiny new vacuum no excuse for the friday clean now
Camelot how lovely to have a shop like that wish we had one here as i am passionate about trying to keep food from landfill
Coxy I think its a generational thing regarding benefits but if she is entitled then she should have it its just the persuading them to apply
Nels I hope you are doing ok
Ruby Hopefully your resting up and i know your lovely family will be looking after you x
Nan Enjoy the show
Taff Hoping the hospital appointment goes well for you x
Hugs to all our poorlies and MIA's Have a good day whatever you are up to stay safe warm and dry xxSlava Ukraini9 -

Morning everyone thinking of all of those with hacking cough’s everywhere I go there is people coughing it’s definitely doing the rounds I’m hearing of so many people who are poorly at the minute it’s calm but damp at the minute here at least it’s been milder lately saving on the heating I just been out for eggs and bumped into someone I know who is full of cold but said it was easier to wrap up and walk the dog than sit in the house with the heating on it’s shocking. I’m off to work soon just going to have a coffee my back is about broken but I’m in tomorrow to try and get on top of the work so it will boost my savings a bit just until 12 tomorrow I will be singing hallelujah when I walk out of there tomorrow. My hubby keeps saying I’m going deaf but I don’t know about anyone else it’s not much I watch on the television but I think they mumble in some of these dramas then last night we had recorded silent witness and he even struggled to pick up half of what they where saying then I realised when they are talking it’s the background music that is so loud it can’t just be me . Anyway that’s my moaning done for today oooh forget to say picked up a ham on the bone joint serves 12 priced at 11 pounds in Lidl reduced to 1 pound it is now in the freezer we are having some family round in a couple of weeks that will do us fine and whatever is left will be put to good use what a bargain . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing10

Morning all. Appointment went OK, basically, double up on the tablets gradually until I'm taking ten times the strength...Nothing else can be done until I get worse because at the moment, I'm hovering over the numbers required for mechanical intervention. So I'm good until I get worse
Finish taking down the decs today, go for a pincushion blood letting at dinner time and then shop for some cat treats in BM and Lidl for parsley. I have polpette to make. Don't need anything else, ok, maybe some eggs, so am not planning on spending that much at all. I am gearing up to fight with the insurance company who still haven't decided on liability for the crash in Italy but do want to charge me double what they charged me last year. I don't blummin well think so. I'd rather pay someone else triple because I'm in that kind of mood.
Rosy, hope you had a nice evening. Nanny, same to you, hope you didn't break CardiffCoxy, well done for persevering, hope you're successful, check out the benefits board if you need to...TA, enjy the new hoover! NRA, good to know Jackie is still communicating, chin up to her...Gers, a sort of plan is better than no plan at all [ actually, I don't think it matters, so enjoy winging it
] camelot, well done saving food. Izzy, hope you can get through without too much pain then. I'm with you on the background music being louder especially with some films nd I can't alter it on my computer, so there are times when I hover with the ouse over the volume button so as not to wake the neighbours with the incredible loud bass noises....Topsy, enjoy your weekend off..Take care all, hugs for the poorly, you know you want a potential source of infection cuddle
No, but , really, virtual hugs...

Morning all, the wind seems to have dropped here and it's clear. I am getting a lift to Ald! in a while after Dh has called at the job to measure their new windows & picked up a barrow- this is to help him transport some bricks out of the van to my brothers ready for a bit of a job there next week so he'll drop me on the way to DBs. There are def gaps in the fridge & cupboards now.The pizza night was good last night, thanks, but nearly a disaster, as we got to the pub and the kitchen was closed due to a misunderstanding! The bar manager gave us all a free drink, and said she wouldn't mind if we ordered some pizzas in but we decided to go to the Italian just up the road after we gave them a quick ring to see if they could fit 8 of us in at such short notice.Suited me better than pizza tbh. One of the women didn't really know the rest of us , I have met her before a couple of times but she knows my DB2 & SIL, turns out she works at the same place as her. It was her birthday and they weren't originally coming with us as meant to be going for a birthday meal but he'd hurt his back and wanted to stay local.Someone told a waiter it was her birthday and they brought the restaurant to a standstill, played music and sang to her with Italian exuberance
, so a good night had by all
.
Shame about your breakfast Gers & CamelotIzzy, completely agree about tv sound.NRA thanks for the update on Jackie, hope she's better soon, and others unwell too.Better get ready to go shopping, & try to get the bare essentials needed! Have a good day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -
Afternoon everyone
The wind is blowing wildly here too - its a shame you missed out on meeting up Gers and Camelot.
I've hung some washing out with lots of pegs in!
I've been down to M and S for bread this morning - I got two loaves for 53p each so I'll put one in the freezer. I've also got an order coming from Tesco later - I tried hard to get it less than £50 but it's come in at £50.40 - hopefully enough to last a couple of weeks.
I then called at mam and dads and sorted some emails and his bank - and had a cuppa.
Planning a lazy afternoon apart from putting the shopping away - might manage to make a start on one of my Christmas books.
Little one had a great day yesterday - she was so proud of herself pushing her pram round town and made so many people smile - I know I'm biased but she did look cute! We went to the library and then met my mam for lunch and had a little wander round the shops. She 'needed' a pirate eye patch to wear when she plays with her pirate ship but we couldn't find one - I ordered one from Amazon when we got home and it's arrived already. On the way home she sat beside her friends on the bus - two old ladies who like a chat with her.
Eldest DD is away to Bratislavia and then Budapest today on the train - just cos she has a long weekend!
Right better get some jobs done, take care everyone x9
