Cordless hair dryers..?

Tried to get a response to this on OS but no luck. Anybody got any experience of these and able to give an opinion as to whether they're any good?

Why would you want one, what is wrong with using a wired hair dryer? Sounds like a solution waiting for a problem.

  • The room where I normally dry my hair has had to be deprived of the electrical socket I use. The other socket in the room is 4m away and unreachable without an extension lead. Also, I would like the freedom to move around if necessary.

    Ok?

My hairdryer was a 16th birthday present. I got my OAP last year.
Will a rechargeable battery last that long. No one knows yet .................

Haven't used one - but imagine the laws of physics - power consumption - battery size - weight - would probably make them impractical for now. I didn't know they existed, but having had a quick look, most seem quite underwhelming. None have really 'hot' air - and seem to talk about warm flow and cool settings. If you're just looking for a blast of cold/slightly warm air, they might work for you, but if like many you want a decent shot of hot air, I don't think the technology is there yet. Most reviewers seem to err more on the side of complaining than complimenting the current range of products.
