Then work out your other regular outgoings and do the sums - there's no way anyone here can do them for you. For example, being single might mean you eat out every day because you hate cooking, or you don't go out much precisely because you're single!
In particular factor in transport, and whether you plan to have a car (so need somewhere to park it, which is unlikely to be 'free').Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!0 -
£50k is not a huge amount of money for city centre living in Manchester. It’s affordable but you will need to make some compromises.1

As others have said, it's difficult to judge without knowing your other finacial committments and current income and outgoings. Not to mention what you consider to be 'central'.
£50K gross would give you take home of about £2,900 a month, assuming you were paying 5% into a pension and about £3,100 if you don't contribute.
Obviosuly if you will be paying student loans that would be about £225 so you'd take home between £2,700 and £2,900 depending on pension.
Looking at Rightmove, there are some fairly central 1 bed flats available for about £850-£900 a month, although those are the cheapest end of the scale for self contained properties - quite a few places around the Castlefield area, for instance.
Bills will vary a lot depending on the type of property and your own usage - fnormally you'd expect bills to be lower in a new build than in a converted factory or older building, but it will depend on the build quality, design, and lay out. And in some cases you may not have the same level of control over your supplier and usage as you do in a house or smaller block, so check what the arrangments are.
£50,000 is a fairly high salaray o thre will be alot of people who are working in Central Manchester and earning alot less than that, but it will depend on what you are comparing it with; if you've been living somewhere with a lower COL or on a higher salary then itwill feel very different to if you've been earning a lot less!
one factor to think about is what your expenses will be - e.g. do you have any loans, HP agreements or otherongoing fincial commttments? Are you likely to need to take any on? For instnace, if you are living and working in central manchester you're unlikelyto need a car, but if you want one, you will have a lot of additional expenses which will make a big difference to your over all position. All posts are my personal opinion, not formal advice Always get proper, professional advice (particularly about anything legal!)0 -
Its plenty, jump on rightmove to look at how much flats are renting for.

I live in one of the new builds in the city centre, I think it's well worth living here and paying a bit more for the benefits. I get free gym access which is always quiet, social events (free drinks and food), free shared workspaces, the city is on my doorstep and I never have to pay for taxis or travel anywhere.1
