Vetting Security Clearance

Hello,

I completed my vetting security clearance 3 weeks ago. I know it can take up to 6 weeks, but I'm wondering if anyone else has done this and how long it took for the security clearance to say completed?

Thank you!

  • What type of vetting is it.
If it's standard disclosure bear in mind there's probably not been much done over the Christmas period.

It just says SC. It's for SSCL. I thought it might be slower over the Christmas period but I'm hoping it might get done this month, fingers crossed!
  • Your site security officer/crypto custodian will receive the paper work giving the dates of validity. SC is fairly straight forward as everyone and their dog gets this.

DV will take longer, as the Vetting Officer also interviews you (about 2 hours). Have the URL to your fave !!!!!! site handy for the interview as they don't believe for one minute you have never visited any. They want to put a tick in the box for your honesty.

Enhanced DV and SPC could take up to 9 months.

Yes the whole "Just be honest because we will be able to access records anyway, it is a test of honesty as much as anything else", they do not care if people like to dress up in a gimp suit in their spare time, so long as that information cannot be used to blackmail the person.
  • Back in the old days interviews were conducted at your place of work in any old broom cupboard. Nowadays Google Meet seems to be the tool of choice.
