Life challenges this week! This past week was fairly manic with far too much time spent either making calls or waiting for a call. Nearly 6 hours wait for GP to call! I got to the stage where I though head bashing might be the answer except it would make a mess of my walls! I am still hoping to collect much needed eye ointment tomorrow before I leave, caused because a particular make is now unobtainable nationwide...Thursday was possibly the worst when I went to Mablethorpe and the exhaust fell apart in the middle of the road with the silencer (misnomer) bouncing up and down on the road surface. My guardian angel turned out to be the lady owner of a cafe across the road who very determinedly managed to get the silencer off (after about 20 minutes) so that I was able to drive off. Then went to visit friend (out!) & then tried to phone the local garage on my mobile- no network!I managed to borrow a phone from a neighbour there who was doing house repairs and eventually drove back home. I was going to fill up at Tesco because it is the cheapest diesel for 15 miles but the delivery tanker was there! I took the bypass to avoid town & get to the garage quicker but there had been a 3 vehicle prang (don't think anyone hurt) so a long queue !!
The garage had ordered the part and the car was fixed by 4.30 pm. Congratulations to them. Really you couldn't make it upOf course it could have been very very much worse if that had happened on the motorway or in the night on the Irish trek.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Hi everyone. Katie I loved the photos and the description of your trip. I have asked my friend, the one I go out with now if he's ever heard of the sandworm bearing in mind he's travelled the world and is always telling me about his trips, random topics about every subject imaginable. I was amused when he replied - is it a type of lugworm?Maybe your dog is still in the house but on a different plane so you can feel a connection and look around for her. Well done on all the doggie duvets, that's a huge amount. Do you have elderflowers yourself or did you pick them elsewhere?I spent Summer Solstice outside eating lunch at a garden centre cafe, behind it in the hills is a hill fort and a Celtic stone related to sacrifices. From our table we could see another hillfort location in the opposite direction in the far distance. Then we went to another cafe which was facing a third hill fort. In between all this at the exact time of the solstice we went to a place called Goblin Combe just to stand and appreciate the ambiance as it's a magical place.Happy Kitties I have jobs in the house I just can't get to, I expect one day when you least expect you will do your ceiling. We're currently doing an architecture scavenger hunt and thinking up places to go for August 1st, Lammas day so it could be a standing stone or something. For special occasions this month a gift/card has been sent out and another card needs posting tomorrow. I also need to think what I can buy/make my friend in time for his birthday next month.1

Hi everyone, I am looking forwards to your updates. Chanie, I hope you are ok,Yesterday we tried a cafe in a different town (really didn't like it) and we even spotted people we knew there then went to see a Knight's Templar tomb which was outside in a graveyard that had tables and chairs in it which was most unusual. They were also giving away free plants and books inside the porch, there wasn't any donation box either. Just a sign to take things.I've got an unexpected family visit this weekend (DS1/wife) coming after he's been awol for months so I'll be doing some prep for that.0

Time seems to be running away with me this month, I’ve been so busy, it has gone so fast. When I go to recycle my pet sachets in the next town, I try to pop into a couple of shops to make it worthwhile. TKMacx is next door. Popped in last week to find some Halloween things in. I’m not so much into Halloween in the trick/treat sense but the fact it is All Hallows’ Eve. I also love pumpkins and ended up picking up a bat cushion, a big squishy pumpkin and a pumpkin snowglobe. My favourite season is autumn aswell, I love everything about it esp after the summer holidays.
I don’t often have chance to go in to the store but when I do I find that the stock always changes quite quickly. I did manage to pick up a couple of things for my daughter last Christmas in there. I’ve generally bought a couple of Christmas presents but as usual I’m behind in sending out birthday presents.
Katiehound-you can never say ur adventures are dull that’s for sure!Anglea- a Knights Templar tomb sounds interesting. Do u have a photo of it, I love the historical aspect. I hope the family visit went well.
Chanie-I hope you are doing okay.
The hub organiser contacted me about picking up all the items I have collected or meeting up. It might encourage me to finish shoebox number 4 (I’ve been so bad) and at least I can hand over 4 shoeboxes aswell.
Nothing much else has happened except being busy with work, no great adventures like Katiehound. Travelling abit with work but touchwood so far, no disasters!Decluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Hello
really enjoy reading your posts and thought I would say hi again
Have been generally pootling along and have been doing some decorating which was long overdue! The end result is my child now has a bigger bedroom (moved rooms as older child moved away for work) and is set up for him to last into high school - looks rather good too even if I say so myself. The other room I did was the sitting room which took longer but it no longer looks like a playroom but rather a comfy family room and child now puts toys away when finished because he says it looks nice which is a bonus.
Have also been making bags as presents which has kept me occupied in the evenings when child gone to bed and I have now got slightly addicted. Well now off to make apple crumble with my child as the weather is like winter! Think that is why I feel a little lonely as not nice enough to go out and been like that for a while - as is for everyone in UK

Hi Auti, I love that bag, very good colours. I can see why making them could be addictive. It was really good to read your update about your house.I've been trying to change my account email from a computer only one to a phone one so I can post photos but it's refusing to verify 2 different emails I tried. I will try again this evening and if that doesn't work I may try setting up a new MSE account just to put photos on here and keep my usual one for writing updates.2

I've just tried to use my normal MSE email and it's refusing to let me into the forum on my phone so I can't understand this.Do the rest of you use a phone to use this site or a computer?1

Hello, I use an IPad to post and read messages if that helps. Hope you work it out soon2
