Oh my word....that really was a saga. So glad all is sorted now though, even though it means you need to save another EF and it might put Project Surbiton back a bit. You do at least have the a decent electrician you can call on now and sounds like the roofers are worth recommending. Hopefully we'll get some decent weather now and you can get in the garden. xMaking the debt go down and savings go up

Ugh - yes, what a rotten saga. Another positive I would suggest is your knowledge that your fuse box and trips did exactly what you want them to do in the event of something becoming unsafe - that was very much on our list of "well it could have been worse" things when we lost the downstairs lighting circuit before christmas. As annoying as things like that are, it's definitely a reassurance to know that the things that are in place to keep us safe are working as intended isn't it!

Wow what a week, your roofers and electrician sound very good though and them being willing to find solutions and put things right is worth its weight in the proverbial precious metal. Heres to a swiftish replenishing of the EF.3

Gosh, what a week! No wonder you were frazzled by it all. Your roofer geezer sounds very impressive, and I agree very useful to have a local electrician!
Very glad it's sorted now and you can get back on the case with your emergency fund x2 -
That was a tough week! Well done for surviving it with grace and sanity intact 👏
As others have said your roofing contractor sounds absolutely excellent and to find a good sparky is always a win. Shame about the hole in the ceiling, but that will soon be forgotten 😊
